Want-away Spanish strikers Javi Guerra and Michu look set for different fortunes as Madrid's fourth club turn their attention from one to the other
But after several weeks of fruitless negotiations, reports coming out of Spain now claim Madrid based outfit Rayo Vallecano are planning to sign Guerra - ditching their plans to lure Swansea City star Michu in the process.
Madrid based sports journalist Carlos Sanchez Blas tweeted: "Rayo Vallecano are negotiating the transfer of Javi Guerra from Cardiff City. The great difficulty, as always, money."
The Spain international has been linked to return all summer - despite interest from La Liga rivals Granada and Sevilla, but financial constraints have made affording his wages is a very big ask.
Guerra has found himself in a similar situation to his compatriot and is aware that any move will involve negotiating the end of his current Cardiff contract.
But if a deal could be done, Guerra would be free to negotiate a move back to La Liga.

Let's hope for Guerra that they are just not using his name to push through the stalled Michu deal.

And while we struggle to have any impact up front we continue to pay this guy a fortune to do feck all, along with probably part of Le Fondre's wages and a big wedge for Kenwyn to give us the odd 20-30 minutes.
It's like an anchor holding us back

What a complete and utter shambles the whole affair surrounding Guerra has been.
We've had to endure a totally misfiring attack for virtually the whole of his time here, yet he's still here on our books, picking up his healthy wage without being considered when he has the evidence of being a far more likely goal source than any of the strikers being considered.

Spot on i'm convincved he would score buckets of goals if given a change but we're playing Revell up top instead! Incredible stuff.
