Andre Gray: Bristol City have £9m bid for Brentford striker accepted
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33974678They have money to burn it would seem
Tue Aug 18, 2015 2:30 pm
That is mad.
Tue Aug 18, 2015 2:37 pm
That is mental!

Paying 9mill for one player in the Championship is ridiculous. Judging by their start to the season, they need to bring in probably 3 or 4 decent Championship experienced players with that 9mill.
Tue Aug 18, 2015 2:51 pm
They have obviously set aside £9m to get a striker and will have clubs accepting their cash all day long.
They now just have to convince them to come. Gayle didn't fancy it
Tue Aug 18, 2015 2:55 pm
They can have Kenwyn for that
Tue Aug 18, 2015 2:55 pm
It's too much, but he's a decent striker !!!
Tue Aug 18, 2015 2:58 pm
What has he done to justify that price tag, ridiculous price

It's what it costs Bristol City to get a yes. If Man U came for him he could press for release at a lower price.

Crazy money for the player But still better than what we paid for the Danish flop
Tue Aug 18, 2015 3:08 pm
Boro bought downing for 7 million as well. Pretty expensive considering his age.
Tue Aug 18, 2015 3:36 pm
Gray's release clause is 4.5m, they had to double this to start talks!!!!.
Tue Aug 18, 2015 3:50 pm
Absolute madness if that fee is correct....add on the agents fee..vat...signing on fee..loyalty and possible promotion bonuses...and a four year contract ....a total fee of about 13 million for a player who has had one decent year in the championship
Complete and utter madness

Silly money

It's a bargain in comparison for the 14m Blackburn want for Jordon Rhodes!
A lot of money, but if it goes a long way to keep them in theChampionship they will see it is money well spent. Quality striker who will score goals.

hhmm the start of Bristol City doing a pompey and fkin off down the leagues when they go bankrupt...
Just like we could have if Tan didnt sort out the business! Im glad we aint throwing this sort of cash about anymore

This figure will be totally insignificant if they get promoted and share the unbelievable riches which are coming to the Premier League at the end of next season.
This is defo the year to get promoted.
I can't understand why Tan hasn't seen this and gone all out to get a manager and a couple of quality players to put us in the picture.

I agree. A couple of quality players and we are in with a serious shout. We have a good squad but we are short of goals.

Always rated the guy as posted by myself last year and I am sure we could have got him for less than a million 2 years ago

'oh and you can bet Luton were clever enough to insert a sell on clause as the rated him highly and never wanted to sell him

.

If I was him I'd stay at Brentford, think they've got better prospects than Bristol C.
If he's that good, he'll smash 25 goals in for Brentford and get a move to the Premier League.
