Marshall deal dead?
Baggies news

End of Marshall hunt?
Tony Pullis is known to offer have offered £4.5m for Cardiff City's David Marshall.
Cardiff are believed to have wanted £5mill plus add ons.
Pullis is not willing to ask the Baggies board to increase the offer.
Goalkeeper David Marshall is in line to make his first appearance of the season for Cardiff City against Blackburn Rovers.
Marshall has competed his three-match suspension and will fly to the north of England with manager Russell Slade’s squad on Tuesday morning.
“David is in our squad and will be at Blackburn with us,” said Slade. “He has been training normally and is a top professional.
“He has been as good as gold during his suspension, despite speculation over an offer from West Bromwich Albion. He is focused and ready.”
Slade will start with Marshall or Simon Moore, who has played in both Championship matches so far and was the WalesOnline man of the match at Loftus Road.
Albion have gone quiet over their £4.5m offer for Marshall and Slade admits he is happy for that to silence to continue.

It'll go to the wire. Glad we are holding out

I'm all for the club holding out for the best possible deal if it was going to benefit the club, but i don't believe for one second that the money will be used to improve the squad. VT wants the best deal for his own pockets.

Hope so, we need Marshall. Top keeper and a leader/experienced head. He's worth at least 7m imo.
They want a Pl keeper for 4.5m with the price of players these days is taking the piss, cough up for do one!

So getting no money at all benefits tan? As mardhalls value is not going to increase! 4.5m is best tan can expect
So why won't he sell?

Don't blame Pulis for wanting Scotland's No.1, but for once Cardiff City FC are playing this one superbly!
They have a valuation, WBA haven't met it (yet) and the ball is firmly in their court; pay up or push off and we can all get on with our season!
Marshall is a huge asset to Cardiff City FC and personally I believe we are better keeping him. He and his family are happy in Cardiff and he has a lot of mileage left in him yet!

Not good. We need to let him go to succeed everywhere else on the pitch.

West Brom move for Cardiff City captain David Marshall could be over as Premier League club fail to meet valuation

The transfer window remains open until the end of this month, but sources within the Cardiff club now believe Marshall will stay
Cardiff City fans love David Marshall for his passionCardiff City captain David Marshall looks like he could stay
Premier League West Brom have STILL failed to match Cardiff City’s £5m-plus valuation of David Marshall - and the Bluebirds believe a proposed deal could be dead in the water.
Cardiff are far from keen to see Marshall leave and insist they won’t budge from the fee they want.
Albion manager Tony Pulis clearly wants Marshall in his squad, but the midlands club have not increased the £4.5m offer made more than a week ago.

Tan will sell as close as he can to deadline day, and probably for £4.5m or even less. That way he gets some money in, the wages off the books and can say that there was no time available to use any of the funds to buy anyone else.
A win-win for Tan.

Personally I believe Marshall is point 6-9 extra points for us per season, therefore I we are playing like a top 10 team (which IMO we are currently) then Marshall could be different between top 10 and a playoff spot?
I have huge respect for him as he's remained the professional during this period, no stupid facebook or twitter comments like some other Cardiff players recently!

Really can't see all the money going back into the transfer kitty with the size of our debt, slade would be lucky to have half of it so I hope Marshall stays he is worth about 10 points per season with the saves he makes

Birmingham Mail has the deal dead, however, The Express & Dingle think it will the end of the week. Basically since Pulis has taken over transfers. Nobody in the press know anything, their sources have gone. This means there's a certain amount of peeing in the wind. Will it happen? I haven't got a scooby! We do need a no.2 as Foster's knackered. Pity we're messing you about, can't wait for the window to close

why don't people understand if tan wanted the money he would make sure he went at any price! and would sell other player assets, its no good to him if we stay in championship as never in million years will he be able to sell us with 100m of debt!!
people seem obsessed with tan taking every penny he can from club without a shred of proof other than the cut backs which are essential for our long term survival,

I don't know why Marshall would want to go to WBA if it's as a number 2. It's the euro next summer and if Scotland qualify surely he will want to be playing regular football. Besides WBA will struggle this season and Marshall is far too good for them.

He's not going. He was never going. He'll see out his career (thankfully) at City and then become the GK coach.
