The influential winger believes new-look Rovers have shown glimpses of promise in their opening two games of the Championship campaign.
But, after picking up their first point of the season by fighting back to draw 1-1 at Huddersfield Town on Saturday, Conway says it is time they put it ‘all together’.
And the Scotland international insists the fact that Rovers have a raft of new recruits in their ranks can be no excuse if they fail to do that this evening.
“We want to start the way we finished on Saturday,” said Conway, who has scored eight goals and created a further 23 in 64 appearances for Rovers since his £100,000 switch from Cardiff in January 2014.
“We started that way against Wolves in the first game so against Cardiff we want to start where we left off against Huddersfield. It was a good second-half performance after being poor in the first half.
“I think it’s slowly coming together but we want it to come a wee bit quicker.
“We’ve definitely shown in glimpses that we’re building something. We’ve got a few new lads in that have come into the fold and done well.

“It does take time but there is still enough of the squad left (from last season), so we can’t really use that as an excuse.
“We’ve showed in glimpses that we can do it, so there are no excuses that we can’t go and do that, and hopefully we can put that all together tomorrow night.”
Five of Rovers’ six summer recruits featured against Huddersfield with Hope Akpan, Fode Koita and goal-hero Nathan Delfouneso impressing off the bench.
“Every one of them has made a good start and an impact,” said Conway.
“On Saturday big Fode showed his power and strength, similar to Nathan, and Hope came on and showed his composure. He’s a strong and powerful, as well, and he adds to what we have got.”
Fourteen players who had played first-team football for Rovers left the club in the summer.
But the arrivals of Akpan, Koita, Delfouneso, Danny Guthrie, Modou Barrow and Sacha Petshi have boosted their numbers.
And Conway said: “Even in the summer I wouldn’t say we were bare but we’ve definitely added a few, which can only improve things.
“There’s competition now, which is always healthy, and we’ve probably got two players for each position.”
Cardiff came from two goals down to draw 2-2 at newly relegated QPR on Saturday.
But, after drawing 1-1 at home to Fulham on the opening day, like Rovers they are also searching for their first victory of the campaign.
“We want to go and get our first three points and they’ll be thinking exactly the same,” said Conway, a key member of the Cardiff side which won the Championship in 2012-13.
“We’ll be working hard and hopefully we can put together what we’ve shown in glimpses, start strong, get the fans behind us, and go on and win it.”
The average age of the Rovers team which finished Saturday’s match was 23, with Conway, 30, its oldest member.
“Craig has been terrific for us, not just on the pitch, but off the pitch as well,” said Rovers boss Gary Bowyer.
“He’s really stepped up this season in terms of being a leader.

“If you look around at the age of the team that finished Saturday’s game, it was a young side.
“Craig was our elder statesman by a long way. He’s really stepped up to the plate.”
