' Feel Sorry for Russell Slade/But '

In many ways I do feel Sorry for Russell Slade as he has not been given one penny this Summer in the Transfer market and has been told like last year to sell, sell, sell and even when he has lined up players he has been unable to go through with it.
He's trying again now this week to bring 2 players in,yet he still needs to offload more players first.

City thought they would get money for Guerra,Le Fondre,Mason,Jones etc and still hope to get £5mill for Marshall.

City fans were told that money would be made available? ? ?

But why I dont completely feel sorry for Slade is,he has publicly said he is happy with the squad he has and he has been backed etc.

My opinion is he has not been backed at all and Slade by saying all that has made a rod for his own back and there for will be the fall guy if we dont at least make top 6 this season as promised.

I will say it again,My strong opinion/feelings are that Tan wants out ASAP and will do what ever it takes to get out of our club with most of his money back. Some people dont like hearing this, but its what I feel/see.

So its a tough job for any manager to manage Cardiff City right at this moment,so get behind the team no matter what this season :ayatollah:

There is a plus side, the squad is strong in my opinion :ayatollah:

I agree I don't think we need additions really our squad is strong and I think the money will go towards the debt and not on new recruits.

Agree. In my opinion he will stay until the parachute payments end. Slade can't win so let's back him, the football has improved 10 fold from last season.

100% agree he's not been backed but can't blame him for not coming out and saying this, what would it achieve other than a rift between manager and owner which we all know there's only one winner there, I do think we've a strong squad, one or two signings would be the difference between top 6 finish and just a mid table finish but I don't think they'll come and we'll be with the same squad until at least Jan when tan may assess things again,I dare to say if we have a chance of top two he'd strengthen but I don't think we'll be near top two

There is a good chance that Tan does want out, but there again he surly realises that no-one would be interested in a Championship club with a £150m debt around its neck.

So MY belief is he is trying to do a promotion on the cheap like a number of clubs have previously done and then get rid. The squad is a good one and I can see no reason why VT shouldn't expect value for money on players already here.

My personal opinion on the squad is if we could stick the ball in the back of net more often from the chances we are creating, we would piss this league.

I agree I don't think this league is that good we get a decent striker and we can go up

I agree. I can't see how tan can get most of his money back without promotion. He has seen other clubs go up without spending ridiculous amounts (and we have spent plenty - even on the players who are still with us), and the squad we have is very good if they are fit, set up right and play for each other. I'm not (yet) convinced by Russell Slade, but with fewer players and a good pre-season the squad already looks much better than last year.

We gave a decent striker Macheda . If played and stays injury free, he will score 15-20 + goals this season . Bookmark this .

do people really expect him to come out and say "im not happy with the squad"

he said hes looking to bring in a couple more players..... one of which was apparently all but wrapped up three weeks ago

he's been given no money but still has a large squad here that can compare and compete with most others in this league, thus making the playoffs a realistic ambition.

Just to point that reality out, the loan signing (again no money spend, or very little at least) of a proven championship goal scorer like campbell would transform this side imo. But there is still so much expensive dead weight to get rid of.

Tony I think you've hit the nail on the head. If we could stick the ball In the back of the net more often than other teams we'll win the league
