' Cardiff City need a middle man between Vincent Tan and Russell Slade who is not afraid to say 'no' '

Former Bluebirds captain Jason Perry believes a change in the structure of the club's hierarchy is needed, with a strong personality brought in

Cardiff City must bring in a change of structure to the club's hierarchy - and appoint someone who is not afraid to stand up to owner Vincent Tan.

That's the verdict of former centre-half and captain Jason Perry, who believes a middle man is needed to act as a 'buffer' between Russell Slade and Tan.

Perry said: "One problem at Cardiff is that there is nobody there between the manager and owner, somebody who can be a buffer and is strong enough to say ‘hold on a minute’.

"That person must be capable of saying 'no' and not then having to be worried about losing his job.

"Who would take that role at the moment?

"The club need to address that before the next manager comes in, whenever that might be.

"Because the one certainty about being a manager is that at some stage you will move on."

But Tan wouldn't have it.

No need for a job application just the right character to be brought in with the interest of the club before owner or manager

I'm not so sure that Dalman is a 'yes man' and I am sure he has his say privately, but obviously has to toe the line publicly (as most do in the corporate world)

Some things said by Dalman (and occasionally the lesser spotted Ken Choo) have been pretty positive of late

Are you really expecting the owner of a company to employ an individual that is not answerable to him or his representatives? The whole story is laughable.

I have to say, what a ridiculous thing to come out with. Who in their right mind would hire someone just to disagree with their points of view? And why do we need someone to say no to tan now anyway? Now that the whole coulour fiasco is sorted the club seems to be doing rather well - Dalman and Choo seem more than upto the job.

I was going to suggest that chap from Del Monte but he's more of a yes man.

Perry is more involved with Newport now. As mentioned Dalman and Choo are the guys who are the middle men. Dalman sorting out the transfers whilst Choo is reparing the relationship with fans and club

I always thought that it's better to have someone who tells you how it is rather than telling you what they think you want to know. Surely that's always the best way for the company too ?

Nobody truly knows. I will say the fact Tan changed us back to blue was a lot down to Dalman telling him like it is.
