No reason why we can't beat Blackburn/my team

Sun Aug 16, 2015 8:03 pm

We can go to Ewood Park full of confidence on Tuesday night. If we don't beat them I think it's two points dropped. They have lost Gestede, Cairney and Rhodes will be injured.

Their recent results are also poor. Home defeats against Wolves and Shrewsbury and just a point on the road at Huddersfield. Where as we are still unbeaten, put in a good performance but have a bit to work on, including Slade picking the right team, which he didn't yesterday. (Yes, I said something against Slade! :o)

We must go their with an attacking approach. I don't see much their to beat us. This would be my team:

Moore - Played well yesterday and it would be calamitous if Marshall got injured for 3 months or longer. He would then be unavailable for us and we would have no money for him.

Peltier - Played ok yesterday despite his silly error that led to the goal. Still the best right back at the club.

Manga - Presuming Manga is fit he slots straight back into the side. Connolly was woeful on the ball against Rangers.

Morrison - I actually thought he did quite well against QPR, although it seems others disagree, which is fine. His header was harder than it looked and he is a decent player.

Malone - Brilliant start to the season and topped it with a cracking goal in the dying minutes yesterday. A no brainer to start.

Noone - How he didn't start on Saturday I still don't know. Another impressive performance, should go straight into the team.

Whitts - He is clinging onto his place by the skin of his teeth. Had to think long and hard on whether to drop him or Dickajoi. In the end kept with him because of the fact Dickajoi can't get past 70 minutes at the moment. Defo bring him on mind.

Ralls - Finally Joe will be back into his preffered position. He has certainly earned it. Tidy again yesterday.

Pilkington - Always dangerous and impressive and gets the nod again.

Jones - I actually prefer him as a sub and I'm still torn on this but I think he can get a goal and then come off ready for another start against Wolves.

Ameobi- Use him just behind Jones and see how he does. If it doesn't work we will alays have Joe Mason to come on. I think Mason needs a little rest before a big period coming up. He must take the chances that come to him, which he didn't yesterday.

That would be my team, think it's strong enough to beat them. We woulkd then be 5 points out of nine, which is not bad from 3 tough games.

I think Manga is still injured and won't be back until Forest at best.

Jones is an issue. Not fit enough for more than 30 mins.

Also think your midfield is too lightweight. Tempted to bring Noone in and shuffle Ralls a cross instead of Whitts, but maybe leave as it is due to them all playing well.
Would also keep the same back 5 for consistency - unless the Marshall move is off.

Up front it's more difficult.
Revell works hard, but isn't threatening, whereas Madon has been disappointing.
Maybe try Doyle and Mason, who linked well and bring one (Jones) - or both of the big lads ( depending on the situation )on later.
