' Next weekend Slade must '

Sun Aug 16, 2015 11:28 am

Next weekend Slade must start with Jones, Noone and Ameobi - I'm not a big fan of Jones but when you're paying 36k which with add ons adds up to about 50k a week you've got to have him in the starting eleven. Also to be fair he lightened up the game when he came on yesterday - he was the diference. Drop Revell.
Noone must start out wide bringing Ralls back to his best in midfield - Would prob drop Whitts or Kagisho Dikgacoi
Also bring in Ameobi we won't know how good he is until Slade gives him a decent time on the pitch - maybe drop Mason, I would like to see Jones and Mason partnership but doesn't look like it's going to happen - so maybe Jones with Ameobi ?

Watch Mason, you will have Steve aka Troobloo on your back

But I honestly agree with you :ayatollah: We only took control of the game, when they came on :thumbright:

 How did Russell Slade's Barmy Army get along on the bus Steve? :sladeout:

The only way we will move forward is playing our best players :bluescarf: :ayatollah:

I agree with you Mason, as I said in my report, I thought Slade got his team wrong yesterday. However, his substitutions were brilliant. :bluescarf: :sladein:

It was a good result yesterday, but don't forget that's twice in a week he's been saved by late equalisers.

Team selection was completely wrong today.

Revell, Whittingham, Connolly and Peltier should've been dropped. Peltier and Connolly struggled against Wimbledon!

Who would I replace them with? That's easy. Fabio at RB, Ajayi in for Connolly, Noone in for Whittingham with Ralls in the middle and Jones in for Revell.

Jones has done more in his two substitute appearances than Revell has done in three starts.

It's simple and I'll be disappointed if changes aren't made for Tuesday.

Yes James he got the team totally wrong yesterday - just shows his inexperience IMO.

But he brought on players just at the right time. Kenwyne couldn't have started anyway, he was carrying a knock from the Gold cup. I still think we will beat Blackburn. :ayatollah:

I'd start with Jones as well. I noticed the QPR defenders seemed to be pre-occupied with Jones at the corner from which we scored, allowing Morrison to come in unchallenged. I don't think Revell is anywhere near the standard required at this level, although he is quite deceptive in that he's worse than he actually looks. We are definately lacking in pace up front, and have rescued a point in each of our last two games courtesy of two brilliant strikes. However, we are not going to consistently score with outstanding shots like we've witnesses against Fulham and QPR, and seem to create very few cut clear chances during the course of a game. Although we deserved something from both games so far, we could easily have nil points if it was'nt for these two excellent long range strikes. Certainly could do with a striker with a bit of pace if we a serious about a top 10 finish.

Jones is better off the bench than starting a game

So you'd rather have Revell in the starting eleven ?

I have always maintained kj is great off the bench, how many times have we asked for him to start after a decent sub appearance and he fails to deliver the following week. Having said all that I agree he is a threat and does score goals, has to start just don't get annoyed when he's not running about and working the channels, it's not his game. He is what he is

I agree I think Jones is better off the bench, I'd start Ameobi in a number 10 role with Mason up top, if we're not getting much joy then I think KJ is a fantastic option for us to bring on.

Yes I agree as I said in a thread yesterday. Jones height and power with ameobi pace feeding off him and pilks and noone supply the ball from wide would be a good looking front 4 imo

Steve on the other hand we could of won both games and have 6 points but for moores mistake against Fulham and the useless tw*t in the middle against q.p.r. And for once I don't mean whitts I mean the useless tw*t in the middle with the whistle :sladein: :bluescarf: :bluebird:

Agree. :thumbright: :sladein: :ayatollah:

Yes, we could have won both games, a very fine line between success and failure at this level. QPR scored a goal that should not have stood, but unfortunately it did and they should have scored a third just before we equalised. My concern is that we all know that in both matches we snatched a point with the sort of goals that we are lucky to see more than ten times throughout the season. We are not going to be able to rely on strikes like those every week, and apart from those two long range shots and a set piece goal, we have'nt created many clear cut openings. We have a distinct lack of pace up front, and unless that problem is addressed, I don't see where we can score enough goals to get us into the top half of the table. We also know that we are going to face far better opposition than Fulham and QPR, but hopefully things will improve when our injured players return, and if Slade is able to bring in a striker with a bit of pace.
