' Russell Slades barmy army '

Sat Aug 15, 2015 9:58 pm

Oh how depressing to try to get this song going

having travelled to queens park rangers on carlos coaches as i do to all away games

I was so disappointed that not many would join in my singing of russell slades barmy army in the ground and on the bus on the way home

I questioned a very hard core fan whos name will be kept secret (hmmmm)as to why he says he will give our manager his support but would not join me in singing russell slades barmy army
and was told it was becouse he had no confidence in slade hmmmm how do you support someone you have no confidence in
surely if you say you will give someone your support then it should be given in full

Any way lets not dwell on the negatives

what a great result today after being 2 nil down and a couple of dubious decision not going our way
should there keeper have been sent off was there second goal handball
who knows on another day both decisions could of gone our way but hey ho its still a great result and shows the steel slades instilling into our team never say die is a good attribute to have and imo we have that now
so I sing russell slades barmy army
any one else like like to join in
please feel free :sladein: :bluescarf: :bluebird:

Great comeback from City today - But why is Slade leaving our best players on the bench? Jones, Noone, Ameobi? And starting with Revell? Shocking, sorry Steve but its :sladeout: for me :ayatollah:

I will answer that I would drop Revel, Mason(on todays performance),Connolly and Whittingham.

I know thats 4 players.

Simple answer :ayatollah:

Drop Revell for Jones :ayatollah:
Noone for Whittingham and put Ralls in Midfield where he belongs :ayatollah:
And maybe start with Ameobi partnership with Jones even though I rate Mason :ayatollah:

annis who you play instead of connolly
who you going to play instead of mason
who you going to play instead of whitts
and jones can not play for 90 minutes
its easy to say I would drop so and so but who will replace them :sladein: :bluescarf: :bluebird:

well it might be easy to say but lets have look
jones wont last 90 minutes and we would quickly revert to hoofing it as jones dont make runs
as much as I dont rate whitts anymore playing noone from the start makes us short in the center of the park
ameobi I agree with but it must be with mason imo

Steve, he's improved slightly over the summer.

I too am trying to give him a chance, but it doesn't mean I have confidence in him. I'll support him, but it's in hope rather than expectation.

It was a good result today, but don't forget that's twice in a week he's been saved by late equalisers.

Team selection was completely wrong today.

Revell, Whittingham, Connolly and Peltier should've been dropped. Peltier and Connolly struggled against Wimbledon!

Who would I replace them with? That's easy. Fabio at RB, Ajayi in for Connolly, Noone in for Whittingham with Ralls in the middle and Jones in for Revell.

Jones has done more in his two substitute appearances than Revell has done in three starts.

It's simple and I'll be disappointed if changes aren't made for Tuesday.

After reading a few replies to this OP I've realised how moronic some of our fans are! Instead eyes out of the 2 strikers we started with today Revell was the better of them. Although I would start Jones every day of the week when fully fit, as would anybody with a football brain. Someone mentioned they would start Ajayi over Connolly. I have never read so much rubbish in my life, out of the 2 centre backs that started today Morrison was by far the worst performer. And what the hell has Ajayi ever showed at reserve level let alone first team level!!! In my eyes today's performance was one of the best I have seen in a long time, our structure and style of play (away from home) was spot on. We deserved all three points. Morrisons defending for their first goal was terrible and obviously their second goal should never have stood. If you take those two out of the game, nobody would be moaning about the game today because it would have been a hammering! After that performance I haven't a of optimism about this coming season, and I can't bloody wait!!!!

Although I would start Jones every day of the week when fully fit, as would anybody with a football brain. Mason is not our answer, yes he can finish but he has not got that yard of pace to get him away from defenders or make that decisive move to create some space. Someone mentioned they would start Ajayi over Connolly. I have never read so much rubbish in my life, out of the 2 centre backs that started today Morrison was by far the worst performer. Everyone has a choice to sing or chant whatever they want.

I couldn't chant Slades name then slag off his team selection which is dubious to say the least.

His team selection was wrong, qpr forced him to make changes.

Will wait until October and see how Slade has done.

Note on this form we are low mid table.

If the stats are saying we dominated the first two games, yet only managed to scrape a draw in each, that tells me something's not right. We won't score wonder goals every week to save Slade's skin. At the moment the defence are switching off and the boys up front are not clicking. Let's see if Slade addresses these issues or :digging2: himself into trouble.

We look much better than last year. I like the fact we are defending from the front and winning the ball back quickly.

Noone has played really well and must be close, although the rest of the midfield have played well, it's hard to drop any of them.

Kenwyn has made an impact when we are down and there must be a good case for a start, he is great in both boxes attacking and defending and we now have wingers and full backs putting great crosses in.

I haven't seen anything at all in Ameobi though, he hasn't done anything......

It's suicide to start a player who can only run for 20-30 mins.

Who would play centre half instead of Connolly ?

I will never sing that quite simply because he hasn't earned it. I am prepared to give Slade a chance and I have always said that I hope he proves me wrong but I'm sorry I can't sing a song like that about a manager I don't believe in. I will always support the players though if I feel they are giving their all, Malone is a prime example.

Fans don't particularly like him, they haven't got faith in him and there's 'nothing' really about him as such.
He has made an ok start however and hope it continues to improve.

Steve,

Connolly's left foot is not strong enough, when Mangas back I would of played him or Turner. Even Nugent would of done a better job, but weve loaned him out.

Instead of Joe Mason, first I would give him fews more games, then if not up to it,Macheda,Guerra would of done a a better job.
Instead of Revell, Kenwyne Jones.

Whitts, not good enough, swop his position with Ralls.

As to Kenwyne, if you all feel he can only play 30 mins, then he has to go ASAP as he is costing us £50,000 a week.
I personally would start him :ayatollah:

For me KJ made the difference yesterday. As well as being a nightmare for them in the air he was also able "come short" and hold it up which was lacking until he came on .I thought Mason played ok yesterday but I would like to see him given a go partnering Kenwyn.

We've got a central midfielder selected every game who can't physically last longer than 70 minutes on the pitch!
