I know it's only been 2 games but do you think he's the player to score us 20 a season?
To me it feels like he needs 3 1 on 1s before he scores.
I'd like to see jones and doyle

Exactly what I said during game. Did you hear me? ?

His movement was good, found some good positions, couldn't fault him for effort but some of his touches rivalled Rooney last night.
Sat Aug 15, 2015 6:44 pm
Never thought he was.

I can't work out his best position.
He's never going to get 15-20 goals at this level.
He ain't got the skills and trickery to be a winger.
Maybe an attacking midfielder playing off 2 strikers.
Or maybe just a striker at a lower level.
Definitely not working at the moment though. And I think he's had enough loan spells to learn his trade, he's at that age now where he should be producing

Mason isn't 'the answer' for Cardiff City's attack and I think the penny will drop with Slade soon enough!

Stated numerous times that I don't think he's good enough, and today he was pretty poor. Plays with his back to goal too much, and doesn't get into the right positions to be a goal poacher. Will be lucky to get to double figures, let alone 20.

Neither is Ravell, Can't possible start with these 2 next game can we?
Sat Aug 15, 2015 7:40 pm
Hes a good player for our side playing in a deeper role as a number 10 just off another striker. But jones revell and doyle aint the answer as masons partner up there and we are crying out for a goalscorer.

Don't think we have any player at the club who will get us 20 goals a season at the minute, hopefully that will change before transfer window closes. I doubt that Doyle will get many at this level.

Agree, although hopefully enough options to stay up.
Jones is good in the right set up.
Macheda gets goals in the right set up.
The rest who knows. We don't seem to have a plan with regards to strikers.

What we need is Dwight Gayle, that chance second half for mason would have been gobbled up by a quicker deadlier striker imo but mason still will get goals

I would keep faith with mason .... Mason and Jones upfront.... Alex Revell to be dropped. Also start with Noone
Sat Aug 15, 2015 10:23 pm
He isn't a goalscorer and never will be.

Stated before the start of the season that Mason would not get into double figures and will stick with that. He is not a prolific goal scorer and has not got the pace to beat defences. He had a great chance when through 1 on 1 with Green but just tapped it back to him.
Jones & Doyle deserve to be up front but with Slade you never know what you are going to get. Seems determined to stick with Ravell and Mason although Ravell had a shocker against Fulham. I can only recall him heading the ball through on one occasion yesterday and based on the games so far he has offered nothing.

Great movement, no speed, i don't think he will be good enough either unfortunately, we need a new Chopra Earnie or Bothroyd !!!

He is never going to be the answer, in my view he is a very average player, some people as well as Slade, unfortunately got carried away when he scored a few goals in pre season, I think we have problems with our attack, Slade needs to sort it out now

I think Mason is the answer.....this forum has taken off since he became a moderator.

Mason reminds me of Michael Owen once he lost his dazzling pace. He is a natural goalscorer and makes some lovely off the ball runs. We could do a whole lot worse than Mason.

With all due respect, we could do a whole lot better

Oh yes Slade can,and most probably will

Doyle needs to be given a chance and have an extended run in the team, I think he could possibly be the 20 goal a season striker for us. Done it at a lower level and some strikers are just natural goal scorers, I always thought the same about Charlie Austin while at Swindon. He needs the chance to establish himself and would like to see him and Jones if we are going 4-4-2.

Doyle scored like 25 goals in league 1 last season just up to January that is remarkable and it's only 1 division below he should be starting and be given a run of games

His shooting yesterday was diabolical. He looked at times like he didnt care when he missed sitters.
Especially that one on one. More power in a goldfish.
