Spoke to him last week at the Fulham game.

He was very disillusioned about his time with us due to lack of game time.

A much better player than he has been given credit for and a nice guy too. Wasted three years of his career with us as has never had a chance.

Good news it just didn't happen here for Etien! This seems to be happening quite a lot with our club these days!

Why have so many players been discarded without really knowing whether they were capable of making an impact at Championship level?

We also lost out on Rudy Gestede and came close to losing Joe Mason as well.

It's not Slade's fault as all of this is down to events before he took charge, but someone somewhere on the playing side has a poor attribute when it comes to assessing players.

I don't think we have come close enough to losing Mason.
