Cardiff City stopper David Marshall is still my number one, says Bluebirds boss Russell Slade
Marshall completes a three-match suspension by missing the match at Queens Park Rangers on Saturday with Moore certain to start

Russell Slade says David Marshall is still Cardiff City’s number one goalkeeper and the Bluebirds manager is still hoping he will stay.
Slade revealed West Bromwich Albion have not yet renewed talks on a proposed £5m transfer move for Marshall and says: “It’s gone very quiet and the situation hasn’t changed.
Marshall completes a three-match suspension by missing the match at Queens Park Rangers on Saturday with Moore certain to start.
While Manchester United have left David De Gea out of their team because of transfer interest from Real Madrid, Marshall is ready to play when needed.
He is available for the first time when City go to Blackburn Rovers next Tuesday and Slade says: “David’s desire is there and we will pick a team to win a match.
“If no deal is done with West Brom he will be happy to stay at Cardiff City.
“He is training really well and a big part of what we are doing here.”

We don't need to sell. Marshall will be happy enough staying and there are plenty of other players I think Slade would rather see leave before him

Whether he stays or goes, let's hope it's resolved quickly, developing into a long winded affair

Cardiff City's David Marshall praised as West Brom move stalls
David Marshall's attitude has been praised by Cardiff City manager Russell Slade while speculation continues over the goalkeeper's future.
West Brom have made a bid for Scotland international Marshall but have not met Cardiff's valuation of about £5m.
Marshall's three-match ban ends after Saturday's visit to QPR and Slade says he would have no issue in selecting him to face Blackburn on Tuesday.
"He's very professional. He's training really well at the minute," he said.
Slade added that West Brom's interest in Marshall has "gone very quiet" and hopes the 30-year-old will ultimately stay at the club.
Simon Moore deputised for Marshall in Cardiff's opening Championship game of the season at home to Fulham, but he gifted the visitors the opening goal in the 1-1 draw by fumbling a cross.
Ben Wilson, 23, started in goal in a much-changed Cardiff side in Tuesday's 1-0 win over Wimbledon in the Capital One Cup.
Moore is expected to reclaim his place to face QPR on Saturday, but Slade will have a decision to make on Tuesday when Marshall becomes available to play for the first time this season.
"He's our number one keeper but we'll see how Simon goes," said Slade.
"That's what it's about - competition for places is healthy.
"At the end of the day, you've got to pick a team to win a football match. That's what it boils down to."
Winger Craig Noone is pushing for a starting place on Saturday after scoring both goals in the opening two games.
And Slade said: "Craig has done great. He has scored two goals in two games, a terrific response for not starting the first two games of the season.
"So he is going to be pushing every single game - if not starting."
Cardiff will still be without striker Federico Macheda and defenders Bruno Ecuele Manga and Ben Turner on Saturday because of injury.
But striker Kenwyne Jones is "getting closer" to a first league outing having been a late substitute in Tuesday's cup victory.
"It's great to have him back in the group. We know how strong he is in both boxes," Slade added.
"He is phenomenal in both boxes. Defensively he is so strong and there are very few better than Kenwyne in this league in the opponents' box as well, particularly in the air."

He'll remain with Cardiff until his suspension is complete then the transfer will complete

I think Slade knows that and will be relieved if he can keep him!
I fully support that stance and City supporters should too!
We've done this before (blindly sold our best players, e.g. Gestede, Matthews, etc.) and I hoped Tan (as the money man) and we (as supporters) might have learned; yet all I seem to read is people actually wanting it to happen!

When was Gestede ever our best player?

Tony Pulis is set to sign Cardiff goalkeeper David Marshall next week in a £5 million deal.
West Bromwich Albion are closing in on the Scotland international and are hopeful of agreeing a fee with the Championship club in the next few days.
Pulis wants Marshall to provide competition for Boaz Myhill, with Ben Foster likely to be sidelined until October with a knee injury.
Marshall, 30, will serve the final game of a three-match ban this weekend and Albion are then expected to step up their bid to bring him to the Hawthorns.
Albion have made five signings this summer, including £12 million record signing Salomon Rondon, but Pulis ideally wants another three before the window closes.
He said: "We know what we need. The chairman has been very good. We are after quite a few targets and there will be players that leave the football club as well.
"We have to make sure we do our business without anyone else knowing and get it done. Hopefully we will get it done.”

Gestede was absolutely dire when he was with us. That he became a £6m player in the time since, does not alter how bloody awful he was in a Cardiff shirt.

When was he genuinely given a run/chance????
I always thought he looked strong and capable if given a run in the team, but I will concede I didn't have him playing for Villa in the Premier League at any stage soon!
