MILTON Keynes Dons will face a clash with Cardiff City at home in the Capital One Cup 2nd Round.
The tie was produced by the draw, which took place today (13/08) after the First Round tie between Doncaster Rovers and Leeds United. MK Dons were unseeded for the draw, which saw them put in a pre-draw to determine whether they would get a home or away clash. This draw decided they would play a home match.
Cardiff finished 11th in last season’s Championship, in a difficult season for the Welsh side after relegation from the Premier League in 2014. They are managed by Russell Slade, who formerly managed Leyton Orient. The Dons have faced Cardiff twice before in this tournament, but lost meetings in 2004 and 2008. The Bluebirds are scheduled to face MK Dons in the Championship on Boxing Day at stadium:mk and on February 6th at the Cardiff City Stadium.
MK Dons booked their place in the Second Round after a 2-1 victory over Leyton Orient on Tuesday (11/08). The game looked in favour of the visitors from London after Dean Lewington’s own goal, but a late own goal by Mathieu Baudry and a 91st minute winner by Carl Baker secured the Dons’ progression.
This is the sixth year in a row the Dons have reached the Second Round of the tournament. Last year’s Second Round tie was one of the most memorable nights in the club’s history, as they beat Manchester United 4-0 at stadium:mk. Wil Grigg and Benik Afobe braces secured the victory.
The tie will be played in the week beginning August 24th. Date and kick-off time is expected soon.

At last the voice of reason. They're hardly Real Madrid. Could be a good run on the cup.

I live in MK, there are no decent pubs near to the ground however there is a Weatherspoons which is a 5 minute walk from MK Central railway station, they have a wide selection of beers and the food is ok.
The stadium is a 10 minute taxi ride from Weatherspoons
