When will the next set of accounts be published

Thu Aug 13, 2015 8:40 pm

To be honest I am sitting on the fence in term of whether we are right or wrong in terms of buying and offloading players during 2015.

What I would like to know as a supported of my home club is what is our debt forecast or position is now?

Depending what our new debt balance is I can then decide as a fan whether our club has done the right thing this year.

Does anybody know or have an idea what its likely to be?

The financial year runs to the end of May and they have 9 months to file them. They filed 2014's accounts in Feb this year so I would expect the same.

In my personal opinion I would expect the debt to stay around the same as last year.

In the premier league season our debt increased by around 50 mil and although the club have been reducing the wage bill etc. with the reduced income in the championship I would be surprised if the club has any spare cash to pay back the loans.

If as you say the debt increased by £50m in the PL? I find it strange as the club received over £100m.
Also the parachute payments and alleged £12m drop in wages last season should show a big drop in debt.
There were player sales of over £20m as well which covered any player spending during PL season.

So it seems expenditure goes onto debt owed and income goes in Tans pocket?
How else could the debt be so high after well over £100m income?

Our income will be down by about £45m (if you include parachute payments) and am not sure we made enough cutbacks to turn around a £12m loss though some of that was the new stand write off. I expect a loss again tbh.

You mean the fella that gave or lent the club all the money in the first place? If he has, good luck to him, its his money.

Will be interesting that's for sure but I suspect that the club are more in debt

Yet the debt has increased steadily. So as the previous poster said, all expenditures added onto the debt ( close to 200m now?) and all incomes, rather than reducing the existing debt at that time, straight into tans pocket.. At least that what appears to have happened?

Maybe that's how he will exchange debt to equity ( if it ever actually happens), writing off debt due to monies he has already received? Maybe someone with more than a basic understanding of accounts/multi national conglomerates etc could make this clearer.....

When im talking about the debt i mean the money that tan has loaned the club, not the net deficit where the clubs liabilities are greater than the assets.

The only way to reduce the debt is to pay cash to tan.

Purely my opinion but if in the premier league our expenditure was greater than our income hence tan having to loan the club cash then with a lot less income in the championship the expenditure would have to be cut drastically so that tan would not have to loan the club more money.

Yes during this time we have sold players and reduced the wage bill etc but i wonder if it is enough to have a surplus of cash that the club can pay back to tan to reduce the debt.

Actually tan could also decide to write off some of the debt, but I can only see him doing this when he comes to sell the club.

We should of made a profit compared to the last accounts due to less outgoings and the players sales and 12 million of cut backs on wages

the debt will be who ever you want to believe ! since i can remember we have debated ammount and as yet dont think we have ever had an actual present amount, as it always seems to be from previous year which of course is irrelevant! :laughing6:
