He was the Premier League's fourth top scorer last season and was called up by England in June but now Charlie Austin has his sights on Cardiff City's net.

He might be a target for Premier League giants Newcastle, Everton and West Ham but star striker Charlie Austin is preparing to face Cardiff City on Saturday.

Goal ace Austin, who is expected to leave Queens Park Rangers before the transfer window closes on September 2, is in contention for Saturday's teatime TV date with the Bluebirds at Loftus Road.

Apparently he had a slight injury so he could not play in Capital Cup tie. Highly doubt that QPR will play him just in case he gets injured which would out a dampener on any move. Think money in the bank from the sale of him will be more important than 3 points against us so early on in the season . Hopefully I am right as with him in the side it will be a tough game to get a positive result! :bluescarf:

I don't think he will cause us problem because I think QPR are a shambles of a team they have bought to much and I think we will beat them. :thumbright: :sladein: :ayatollah:

I don't think he will cause us a problem because we haven't bought anyone and we are a shambles of steam! :sladeout:

If Charlie Austin figures anywhere on Saturday, even as a late sub, he can, and will probably score.

Some daft dismissive comments above. They are a threat with or without Austin, but if he plays, I can't see any points in it.

I think he will play, it makes sense he didn't play in a cup-tie as it looks likely he will be sold close to deadline day
