gunners or dickacoi??

Who would you rather play that cdm from the recent performances and going by last season gunners had a shocker so I'd go dickacoi

Any midfield that would break up the Whittingham, Gunnerson axis would be acceptable, thinking about it,as long as it doesn't include O'Keefe, another one of Slade's wonder signings

I think Dikagcoi is more of the complete player than Gunnarson.

Dikagcoi by a mile. Looked a decent player on Saturday whereas Gunnar gives away far too many needless free kicks ( particularly on goalkeepers) and his passing his poor.

Dikgacoi is good, just lacking a bit of pace. I think that's down to injury and not getting matches mostly but he's a welcome addition to the midfield for me

I'd like to see Dikgacoi played purely as a holding player in front of the back four. Then four across the park, with Ralls and Whitts central and No-one and Pilks wide. The one up front is a problem though, as Mason is too lightweight. Only Doyle could do that role at present.

With a duo of Mason and Doyle or Macheda up front and Kenwynne and Noone as super subs I think we would likely have the beginnings of a good, solid midfield platform which would both protect the defence and put the opposition on the back foot.

Agree that is how I would like us to line up. Although Kenwyne Jones is the ideal Front man in a lone role. Big and strong to hold the ball up

It's so frustrating the number of needless free-kicks he gives away - particularly on the goalkeeper at corners. We're going to have a goal ruled out sooner or later from a corner due to his infringing the 'keeper. I think that all stems from the home game against Manchester City when he stood right in front of Hart and we scored a goal from that corner... ever since then he thinks that's his one and only duty at corners!
The debate is always about should it be Whitts or Gunners? ... I'd argue neither, get rid!

whitts spent most of his time between the centre backs again, with the exception of the first 20/25 mins i guess.

i think people look into formation far too much, there were plenty of occasions where diki was further forward that whitts. I dont believe there is any structure to our midfield, especailly with whitts in there as he will always gravitate to the wrong side of the half way line

I think the fans are on whitts back to much I watched the game with Fulham and I have to say he was the only one looking for them dangerous balls through the middle where most of the midfield were passing it sideways or back to our defenders thought he had a good game although he needs to be going harder into his tackles

I realoly don't understand how some want to leave our best creative midfielder out and some don't even want him here

Whitts and gunnar doesn't work. From what I saw of dico although very little he looks to have a few killer passes up his sleeve. I'd like to see dico give more of a chance with whitts

I think you'd be surprised: if we could only experiment and stop doing same old, same old. Without the need to continually cover for another player, I feel confident Gunnar could provide sufficient creativity but you are also obviously forgetting the creativity of Ralls which is in abundance, and Digkakoi has shown he's no slouch either now and again. The key is to take command of the midfield area, start controlling the opposition instead of the other way around and provide a platform to launch attacks. We will never get anywhere playing with only 10 men!
