QPR will offer him a new contract if no club matches the asking price of 15 million.
Chris Ramsey says he is hopeful Charlie Austin will feature in QPR’s first Championship home game of the season vs Cardiff City.
The striker, whose pre-season was affected by a groin problem, has been linked with a number of clubs and has been widely tipped to leave Loftus Road before the transfer window closes.
He was not selected for the Capital One Cup win at Yeovil on Tuesday but head coach Ramsey believes Austin could be back in the squad for Saturday’s visit of Cardiff.
Austin is expected to train with the rest of the R’s squad on Thursday.
The likes of Newcastle, West Ham and Everton are reportedly trying to sign him but so far only Leicester have made an approach.

Bad timing for this fixture! He may well play and is capable of just being in the right place at the right time. He is deadly on his day. The only hope is that the manager wants to look after him and not select him. If a deal is in the pipeline, he may well be dropped.
£15m sounds a bit salty but PL attackers go for stupid money these days.

The figures being talked about are bonkers. £15 million for Austin and approx the same for Rhodes too. Crazy really.

its madness and its only cos they are english, imagine spending more on jordan rhodes or charlie austin than what you would spend on dzeko a proven premier league goalscorer

Andre Ayew was a free, ok his wages are loaded up but it's a good bit of business, same with Gomis last year, and then we sold Bony for £28m both far better than Austin and slow coach
