A forum for all things Cardiff City

A strong line up, a team that could easily be argued that eight or even nine of those starting are first team players, following on from a performance that was better than a lot of what we saw last season, I was hopeful of a good City performance and a good result but the game or our performance lived up to the expectations that I believe many had at kick off.
In truth if that game took place two weeks ago in the middle of pre-season it would have been expected.
It had a feel of a friendly.
The first half was particularly poor and it took 41 minutes before there was a shot on target for either side.
There's very little to write about after that game other than we are in the next round and ultimately that is what matters.
I was happy with the turn out from the fans, credit to the club for keeping the prices as low as they did and no doubt that certainly put a couple of thousand extra on the attendance.
The bright spots of the match was Noone's goal, a superb free kick and Kenwyne Jones' performance when he came on, the big striker certainly did more in a few minutes than our starting strikers did for the majority of the game.
Looking forward to QPR this Saturday and getting an away trip done after a three month wait.

Another great goal from Noone and good to see Kenwyne Jones back.
Both should start at QPR.

Not sure if your expecting anything better.
Under Slade there is a common trait.

Disappointed with the path we are going down and not to see Tommy O'Sullivan,Kennedy and Declan John feature last night

Spoke to Declan on Saturday before the game and he is carrying an injury that required a scan but he didn't elaborate any further.

I think O'Sullivan played for under 21's up at Coventry Monday.. Think he scored as well so may have been tricky having two games in a short space of time

Carl, I echo your sentiments 100%
Kenwyne looked like he really wanted to play for that shirt when he came on and, as you say, he did more in a few minutes than our strikers did whilst they were on. I hope Noone keeps this performance up as we won't go far wrong with him if he does. For me, Connolly and Morrison are not the answer in defence and I can't wait til Manga is back.
It was only Wimbledon and not a very convincing performance by the Bluebirds but a win is a win and we are through to the 2nd round.

I love Revell's effort but I'm afraid he's just not up to it.
