Crystal Palace 'accept £6m Bristol City bid for Dwight Gayle'
Sky Sports
Tuesday 11th August 2015
Dwight Gayle has scored 18 league goals since joining Crystal Palace in 2013
Crystal Palace have accepted an offer from Bristol City for striker Dwight Gayle, according to Sky sources.
It is understood the deal is worth £6m, but could rise to as much as £8m with incentives that have been included in the bid.
Eagles boss Alan Pardew last week revealed that he was willing to let Gayle, who has reportedly been of interest to other Championship clubs such as Fulham and Wolves, leave Selhurst Park if the price was right.

Fantastic signing for them.

Great signing, given the right service he'll easily score 15-20 goals in this division.

Wales Online are saying the bid is £10m
http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/foot ... er-9831529That is a very big gamble, if true. They might as well throw in another £3m and compete with Boro for Jordan Rhodes.
(Some of these clubs must be in danger of FFP penalties, surely - like Leeds, Forest and Blackburn last December?)

Is 6 million really worth it for him? I don't think so.

Cracking little player, worth 6 million all day long.
Tue Aug 11, 2015 3:36 pm
In all fairness well done for them, shows ambition

Seems a lot of money for a Championship level player. I bet they have to pay him a wage the same as KJ too.

Came from non league 18 goals in 2 seasons! Not bad but will he cut it over a full season in champ, lot money to pay out but shows intent somewhat more than us!

Who cares we've got Joe Mason worth twice as much

Frazier Campbell 500k ,Gayle 6-10 million ????? Who would you choose

If they go up, then it's money well spent. If they don't, then they might breach FFP and end up with a fine and transfer embargo. It's a gamble, but also a big statement of intent from the Wurzels.

Frailer Campbell for £500,000
Tue Aug 11, 2015 4:26 pm
He did well in a good team. Will he carry a newly promoted team with lesser players around him? I'm not sure.

To be honest a city like Bristol should have a team in the Premier League. It's embarrassing that they haven't in all honesty.

That's crazy money and the sort of spending that got us in a mess

But You've never had a Billionaire owner with more than two brain cells.
Besides it looks as though the deal is off.

Too much for Championship. He will have to fill the onion bag 20+ times to make it anywhere near value for money.
Pardew isn't dull. He has his reasons to let go.
Don't get me wrong, he will be a menace at this level, but one injury and that's your lot!!!
Hope the keeper situation is sorted before they cross the bridge for "the Derby".

I don't think it was the spending thst got us in a mess it was a combination of three deadly storms 1) deluded, inept ownership 2) deluded inept management and 3) too little money spent on too little talent. Ipso facto!

Bristol really should have a PL side for the size and location of the City, and this is a great statement of intent. They are showing real ambition, we may have a PL side each side of us next season, great for all the Liverpool and Man Utd fans all over South Wales, two really local games for them all to go to

What about the size of Cardiff? The location isn't quite as ideal but not that much in it. Bristol City are developing as a club, but are they seriously at the point where top flight football is viable and sustainable in a year from now?? Not on your Nellie!
