Ameobi must start

It has hardly been a scintillating summer of signings at Cardiff, but the big arrival of course has been Sammy Ameobi on loan from Newcastle.
We have been told the guy is class and should excel at Championship level, so why did Russell Slade start the match with him on the bench? What on earth was the point of that?
To sign Ameobi and fail to have the confidence in him on the opening day seems strange. Look, it’s no point saying Ameobi doesn’t fit into Slade’s current thinking, you make the team fit around Ameobi and set up to bring the best out of him.
Anyway, forget out on the wing anyway, keeping things simple, bring Ameobi in to play at number 10 with Joe Mason.
Alex Revell, who was bizarrely favoured from the off here, was easily one of the weakest links in the Bluebirds’ side and again appeared not to be of the standard required up front for Cardiff.
