It’s hard to have a pub row about Craig Noone. To do so you’d need to be clear which version of the winger it is you are actually discussing.

Is it the electric wideman who looked good in the Premier League, or the timid, confidence-drained version that laboured upon the return of the club to the Championship?

Criticism of Noone from last season has to be tinged with the caveat that he had seen his preparations for the campaign blighted by injury. But still, it was a disappointing season by Noone’s high standards to be sure.

So it was great here to see the winger, albeit after coming off the bench, doing what he does best and running at defenders giving them nightmares.

That it was capped by a wonderful equaliser fired into the top corner indicated what a potent presence a confident and fit Noone can be in the side.

Slade has plenty of options out wide, but Noone sent out a powerful message to his manager. Ignore me at your peril.

I think Noone will get back to his best this season it was his injury and no pre season is what made him rubbish last season. :thumbright: :sladein: :ayatollah:

Terrible last year and I would be amazed if he rediscovers his form but I hope that I am talking absolute nonsense and we see more of what we seen yesterday.

If Nooney rediscovers his mo-jo and Pilkington stays injury free, we will have a pair of wingers who will tear this division apart. :ayatollah:

I've read and should be taken as here say but the rumours are we want him back. We've tried Murray (winger) from Sheffield United and have had a £1.5m bid turned down and we've bid twice for the Blackburn winger Marshall and have had the last £3m bid rejected. Any news this end?

I suppose that's how things operate these days, us fans are left in the dark and only find out when players sign on the dotted line when clubs want the transfer to go ahead and that's the reason why Sheffield and Blackburn have turned us down to send a signal out that they're not for sale.

That goal was something else, not just the goal but the build up to it, I really hope it's going to be Noone's season.

Hopefully he'll get a run of games now. Pilks was like Maradona yesterday...well, his hand-ball was anyway!

Man city fans sing this to the full, I'm sure someone can change the words to suit this song for:

Craig Noone
I saw you standing alone
Without a dream in my heart
Without a love of my own

Blue moon
You knew just what I was there for
You heard me saying a prayer for
Someone I really could care for

And then there suddenly appeared before me
The only one my arms will hold
I heard somebody whisper, "Please adore me"
And when I looked to the moon it turned to gold

Craig Noone
Now I'm no longer alone
Without a dream in my heart
Without a love of my own

And then there suddenly appeared before me
The only one my arms will ever hold
I heard somebody whisper, "Please adore me"
And when I looked the moon had turned to gold

Craig Noone
Now I'm no longer alone
Without a dream in my heart
Without a love of my own

Craig Noone
Now I'm no longer alone
Without a dream in my heart
Without a love of my own

Cracking goal from him.. nice to see him be confident in his ability and try that.. great attitude to have when coming off the bench and that's what we want to see from players on our bench.. ready to give something to get something from a game. :ayatollah:
