With these pro-Ali petitions going around

Sun Aug 09, 2015 9:54 am

I think people deserve to know if there is anything else which was done and not being spoken about ? Someone mentioned an argument in the club shop on Friday may have caused it. Whether that's correct or not I think it's wrong to ask people to sign a petition if they don't know the whole story

If this Ali person wants a petition to help get his job back,he needs to be upfront as to the reason he got the sack,I simply can't believe you can dismissed someone without due cause, if your not willing to clarify the situation, stop looking for support to get you're job back

Re: With these pro-Ali petitions going around

Ali didn't instigate the petitions, fans did. The club shop argument sounds like a malicious rumour. Ali seemed genuinely shocked by the way he was treated. I'm surprised that one of Tan's nephews didn't replace him. Richard Shepherd was terrible. He is a lovely fella, but an appalling announcer.

Ali's not asking for fans to help him get his job back, by what I've seen he just seems pretty gutted and confused

I haven't said that he was. All I am saying is that people deserve to know the whole story before signing any petition

I hadn't thought of it like that mate, my initial reaction is club out of order but I guess could be more to it

By all accounts he went into club shop last week couldn't get shirts in right size and started shouting abusing staff and the new manageress asked him to leave I talked to Ali on many occasions always found him a tidy guy and I was shocked when told about this the previous manageress Helen has left the club

Well 'if' this is correct then Wales online have a duty to investigate this as they are otherwise accepting 'aggression within the workplace' because they are the ones who have drawn up the main petition for Alis return.

Have to agree with Adam here. There's plenty of people signing it without knowing the full story. I mean, its idiotic of people to give their backing to such a thing without knowing the full story.

How do you know it might not be true? - you can't call it that way, unless you know differently

Claiming "people are jumping on the bandwagon without knowing the facts" and then totally contradicting yourself by believing the first rumour that pops up on the internet when you know just as much as anyone else, f*cking classic!

Ali is a city fan through and through and was in the job for 14 years when we have changed remarkably (bad - hooligans; good - growth and bad -rebrand) but his job isn't to simply announce the team sheets, it is to engage the fans.

Footballs fan base has changed in that 14 years and i don't think Ali has changed to meet that changed taste. I went to a minor league baseball game last week and the announcer for a much more stop start game was light years ahead of Ali.

It would be nice to know whether he was fired for commercial or personal reasons.

If it's for commercial reasons I'd laugh my head off, Richard Sheppard is the most boring man to grace this planet

You could get Kylie Minogue stark naked playing men of harlech from her your peachy little bum cheaks and it wouldn't motivate the crowd down the city stadium.
