Ameobi remind anyone of Etuhu?

Sat Aug 08, 2015 10:20 pm

I am making a call that he will have the same (non) impact. I sincerely hope to be proven wrong.

I thought he looked brilliant, can't wait to see more of him

I thought he looked awkward on the ball I wasn't impressed at all thought he was shit. Though it was only 30 minutes and is the start of the season so hopefully he will improve the more he plays

What game were you watching?

Completely underwhelmed with what i saw of him. However, he needs to be given some game time before we can give a fair opinion. Hope he comes good. I agree with previous poster that someone was watching a different game to the rest of us.

Looked awkward but did ok and while am not sure he even knows what he's going to do let alone his team mates, I think it's something we will benefit from

Barely had a chance and already got critics! Decent on the ball and very skillful, I'm not sure Slade knows where he wants to play him just yet. On the wing or behind the striker

Our fans are beyond. We never give anyone a chance, why?
Ask anyone who's played football and coming on as a sub is hard to get into the game.
Don't understand our fans.

I think you will find there are plenty of us on here who have played football, including coming on as a sub. It should take maybe 10 to 15 minutes at most to get into the match, and plenty of subs come on and make an immediate impact. I hope he comes good, but nobody can say he' s been particularly impressive pre season or yesterday. May have just been an off day yesterday, and plenty of time for him to come good.

All I said was that he reminds me of Etuhu. I hope I'm proven wrong.

He had one nice bit of skill but looked out if position and awkward. He will flatter to deceive this year!

Sometimes wonder if people were at same game as me or just being sarcastic brilliant at falling over his own feet nothing else

We literally have the worst "supporters" in the world, not even giving Ameobi a chance because they're too stubborn against Slade

Jon, apparently it's another Cardiff City FC 'tradition'! :laughing6:

I thought he showed a brief glimpses of someone who could 'do a good job' for Cardiff City FC and I can't wait to se more of him, as we need an exciting player right now and hopefully he will get the chance to prove why he was brought in

I actually thought he looked a lot like a young Emmanuel Adebayor (or possibly even a young Kanu)

We should allow him the time to develop and show his skills; otherwise, WTF did we bring him in for?

Our fans judge too quickly, he's only played half an hour of football for this club and because he didn't do anything that stood out hugely he's already "garbage" and "shit". We have a fanbase of high expectations and if they're not met they'll be out in force to criticize.

I hope he starts against QPR. :ayatollah:

I've got nothing against Slade and in fact I am one of his main defenders. I just think Ameobi is similar to Etuhu. Not quite a striker, not quite a winger. 6 foot 3 jumps 6 foot 1. Like I said I hope I'm wrong but I can see Newcastle taking him back when he doesn't play a lot.

I just hope we have a sell on clause for him when he goes for 6 million like Gestede.

He's here on loan, having signed a new contract with Newcastle United! ;)

Why aye, mun!

Reminded me of Eddie Johnson!

Joking apart we have to give the lad a chance. Must be gutting for him to not get in the starting team for his first proper game here.

Came as the big (only!) signing of the summer and the manager who brought him here does not deem him worthy of a starting place - very disappointing.

Why aye bonny lad surely that entitles us to something? Gareth Bale played parks football in Cardiff and some feel we should get something of his sell on value.

I don't have high expectations, trust me. I was actually quite impressed with the way we played against Fulham. I just happen to think Ameobi is shite - a supposed premier league player that can't trap the ball and looks like he doesn't want to be here (shades of JET and Zaha...)
