If I have time I am going to trawl through my posting history and find all the times I defended him as a player.

It was only Polo and that idiot Chuckles that mainly dissed him. Neither of them post on here anymore, surprise surprise.

I remember he got booed one game and people were laughing at him every time he made a mistake. Shows how pathetic many of our fans are, totally clueless about the game in general.

Early days yet but I do hope he does prove one or two wrong.

It's not early days, he was exceptional for Blackburn all season last year. Many on here claimed he was a league one player at best.

Hello stranger, welcome back. I agree, Rudy had a lot of potential when with us, and now he has proved that he was better than Cornelius,,, Fact.

Not that there was any real doubt about that in the first place!

Well when you get the time to trawl over back dated threads the one thing you will defo find is
iWAS HIS BIGGEST SUPPORTER on here and I took the most stick for saying he was a premier league player in the making :sladein: :bluescarf: :bluebird:

I argued with everybody round me , his ability was there for everyone to see at The Carling Cup Final won everything

At one point yesterday afternoon he went up for a header missed it completely and planted his head into the turf. You got to laugh. If Rudy is reading this then all I have to say is you better hope we get relegated this seasons as that's the only way you will find your level.

Re: gustede scores

The turning point was the Forest game just before we sealed promotion :bluescarf:

He scored two and was an absolute menace that day. He was a quick learner and improved spectacularly.

The most amazing thing was that Malky could jettison him for Cornelius. Anyone who has ever watched football could see Gestede was massively more talented than the Dane. Gestede cost nothing, Cornelius £10m+, you couldn't make it up :o

I can never forget the game where Rudy was running towards the opposition goal chasing a goal kick when the ball bounced down onto the back of his head.

Fun for all the family :ayatollah:

Quite right, remember many calling him 'square head' and saying he couldn't trap a bag of cement.
Classic football scenario of careful what you wish for; Rudy scoring in the Prem for a big club like Villa and us having Revell leading the line.
I know he scored twice at Bournemouth pre season, but both were miss hit and if he plays all 46 league games, he won't get double figures.

Hope Rudy does well!

Never thought he would develop into the player he is today neither did anyone at Cardiff or they would have had a sell on clause .But good luck Rudy <o> <o>

I always defended him as a player and that fool chuckles continuously slated him. I always said he'd peak around about this age as players of that ilk do, due to it being a much more difficult game to master mentally.

Same here Chief, I think me and you were few who defended him on here.. raw potential and target men at this club don't get the credit they deserve because some don't understand what a target man is and brings to the game.

Didn't get the chances to prove himself, that's a fact.

Apparently Bellers recommended him to his big mate Sherward, that's according to the Birmingham Mail. I,d love Bellers as our Manger,he would take no excuses for a bad performances.

List of people who supported him:

Me
You
Paul
troobloo
Dando

Cant think of any others. There must have been a few but most of them slated him. Chuckles went all out on slating him.
