No Charisma. I'm sure it's a robot. Come back Ali..

God he's boring. He reminded me of the boring Priest in Father Ted. I believe he also does the shipping forecast and is available for eulogies. You could stop a riot with that voice. Did I say I thought he was boring? Zzzzzzzzzz.

I'm sure Mr Shepherd is a very nice man, but he is not an announcer.
At best he sounded like Peter O'Sullivan doing the Grand National, but without the enthusiasm!!
Not sure what Ali did or did not do, if they can re-instate him that would be good.
If not they need to get someone in quick as could not hear anything of what was said

Did this new guy also speak in Welsh like Ali did ?
Sun Aug 09, 2015 10:31 am
To be fair they wouldn't have had much choice given the fact that they had 24 hours to find someone else
Sun Aug 09, 2015 11:14 am
Half time Wayne could well be the next annonocer
Sun Aug 09, 2015 12:30 pm

If he didn't are you going to relinquish your season ticket in disgust?

Probably not, shouldn't have to really, only 1% of the crowd speak Welsh and all Welsh speakers can understand English anyway

Ali speaks Welsh fluently, Richard Shepherd doesn't.

Well done for totally missing the point.

Go on then, explain the point I apparently totally missed. Other than our national anthem the Welsh language is totally pointless in the modern era and I really don't care if that offends the patriots.

Firstly, you stated that 'only 1% of the crowd speak Welsh'. How do you know that? Unless you've asked every single person in the crowd on a particular match day, then you simply wouldn't. I accept that the vast majority of the crowd are English monoglots, however.
When you say that 'all Welsh speakers can understand English anyway', you're totally missing the point. Bilingualism isn't what the majority of monolinguals think it is. Very few people are perfectly balanced in both of their languages; it is completely normal for bilinguals to feel more confident in one language than the other. Cymraeg has official status in this country, so people have a right to live their lives through the medium of Welsh.
As for you assertion that 'Other than our national anthem the Welsh language is totally pointless in the modern era', I've heard it all before. All I'll say is that coming from a silly little youngster like you who acts like he thinks he knows best, I'm not surprised.
