Fulhams key player?

Probably the former Cardiff City striker Ross McCormack cost Fulham £11m a year ago when he moved to London from Leeds.

McCormack was Fulham player of the year last season and they will rely on the Scottish international for a big goals haul.

He is likely to partner 6ft 6ins Matt Smith up front.

Kostas Mitroglou, Fulham’s £12m Greek striker signed by Fulham’s former manager, seemed to be in contention, but could now be on his way to Benfica.

Mitroglou played one of his first matches for Fulham against the Bluebirds at Cardiff City Stadium two seasons ago when the visitors lost 3-1. He went to Olympiakos on loan last season, but is now back at Fulham and his future seems uncertain.

i know nothing of Matt Smith but the fact he's 6 6 and Fulham wont have Parker aiming to control the flow of possession makes me a little more optimistic. If they are going to resort to a more direct approach i think we have the defenders to deal with that

He had a decent reception last season if I remember rightly. Can't see why would be any different this time. Thought him and scott parker knocked ball round superbly down here last season. So glad to see no parker and would drop someone tight on rossy boy

This really, same as most returning players

Polite applause from me (he was good for us and never let us down afterwards ) and then it's time to get behind the current Cardiff City XI

He was an asset to the club and has moved on now, so respect the past but support the present and future.

No love-in, but appreciation.
