" ANTHONY PLIKINGTON & KIGASHO DIKGACOI "

If Anthony Pilkington and Kigasho Dikgacoi can remain injury free, City will have two quality players there and these two could become a major part of how our season will become :thumbright:

Completely agree, especially Dikgacoi in the defensive midfield position. We haven't had a quality DM for a few years now, whose job is too break up play, win the ball back and protect the back four. That is what he specialises in and when he is 100% match fit, he is going to be a beast for us. We all know how good a fit and confident Pilkington is and if he starts the season in our starting eleven, then I cannot see any reason why he can't have the same type of goalscoring and assist making season, similar to what Peter Whittingham had that one season a few years back, where he had a countless number of assists and he scored 25 or more goals in all competitions. I think Pilkington can have that same impact for us, this season.

It will certainly be an exciting season and even though I'm not happy with our club's choice of manager, I am willing to support both him and the team.

if pilkington can keep up his form from pre season he will be like a new signing..

hes a quality player on his day and one that swansea wanted only 2 years ago.. but if he can remain injury free.

Also known as Sicknote and Fatboy.

If they can both stay injury free and Dikgacoi can ever manage to last 90 minutes then they could both player a major part in how the season pans out.

I hope we see a lot of both of them this year and they show us just how good they can be.

I agree, Annis. I especially think Dickajoi will really change things. Our midfield was so stale last season and we needed some fresh ideas, which he can bring. He breaks up play and can distribute the ball to our creative players.

Pilkington is also a quality player, who I think could defo fit into a lower tier premier league side. His pace and trickery could be a real asset and he can chip in with goals aswell. Hope they can make a big impact. :ayatollah: :bluescarf: :sladein:

All well and good, but what about Slade's obsession of playing Whittingham and Gunnerson in the same midfield, what will happen to your dream midfield then?

They are two big players for us Dikagcoi could be another Medel for us and Pilkington is one of the best wingers in the league in my opinion there are reasons to be positive. :thumbright: :sladein: :ayatollah:

OK here is government health warning: This post will seriously damage the health of all the pessimists!
I believe we have a very good Squad!
Keeper: Moore will become a good replacement for Marshall
(a) Defence [/b] A solid back four of Peltier (Quality Rightback) Manga (best CH in championship) Turner/ Connelly (quality CHs high standard for Championship) Malone /Fabio (both good leftbacks with different qualities)
others: John (needs a break) Morrison (good backup CH)

(b) Midfield
Pilkington (agree with above) Dikgacoi (agree with above) Whittingham ( with the inclusion of Dikgacoi a more advanced role awaits with a big uplift for the team) Ralls (this is his breakthrough season watch him go) others Noone, Gunners, Kennedy, Okeefe, Ameobi

(c)Up Top
Mason (come back as a new player this) Jones (best striker in the air) Doyle (with a run in the side could be a 20 goal striker) Macadda (Needs to up his game if he wants to challenge) Revell (Reasonable backup)

The squad is far more balanced than last year, the addition of a top quality box-box midfielder would be the icing on the cake.
I am looking forward to Saturday :bluebird:

God post, it is good to be positive

To be honest when I see it like that, you make a great case, and I really hope you are right.

Pilkington and Dikgacoi are excellent players and having both back is a real positive, and the midfield looks a lot stronger

We look like much more of a team this season, and Slade to his credit has done a good job in stopping the rot and moving players on and reducing the wage bill.

My doubts are around the Strikers, i'm not sure on them all except Jones who although not mobile does get goals.

I'm also not taken with the fullbacks, or Moore, but am looking forward to the season again, it could be a really interesting one ????

I agree with most of the above. Mason looks good pre season but can he score enough goals to give any kind of promotion chase. Decent striker but needs help hopefully someone will step up and help. Can't wait for Saturday either. Looking forward to new season :ayatollah: :bluebird:

I'm not sure if you might have been pissed when you compiled this breakthrough in football analysis but I can spot a huge flaw straight away. You somehow typed "Whittingham" when you must have meant "Gunnarsson"! If I were you I'd switch the spell checker on

er, no we're not. if we go 2-0 down in the first half hour the fans will boo us off at half time. most are waiting for slade to get sacked.

sorry, i want what you said to be true but it just isn't. you should know more than most that much of our fan base are a fickle bunch who want to go to see us play and get entertained.
