Cardiff City and West Bromwich Albion are still haggling over the valuation of goalkeeper David Marshall, but neither will rush to complete a deal.
The Bluebirds want a fee of £5m-plus, while Albion are keen to pay around £4.5m, having already increased their offer considerably.
Manager Russell Slade does not want to lose his number one goalkeeper, although Cardiff have lined up a replacement if he does move to the Hawthorns. West Brom, meanwhile, are prepared to bide their time.
The Scotland international has told the Bluebirds he is interested in talking to West Brom if a price can be agreed.
