It's time for city fans to get real about Slade

Wed Aug 05, 2015 5:11 pm

No matter how rose tinted your spectacles, we will never be successful under Slade . It's as obvious as saying a snake can't drive a car , it can't and won't happen. Yes I wish it was different but it isn't , reality time Saturday and in following weeks. :sladeout: :sladeout: :sladeout: :sladeout: :sladeout: :sladeout:

In your opinion.

Some would say he was successful last season in what his objective was, stop the free fall leading to relegation and lower the wage bill. He did both and deserves a fair crack this season.

He has a clean slate for me and I will judge after 6-10 games.

He inherited an awful set up but almost finished in top ten. Let's give the chap respect for steadying the ship and and support him after his first pre season at least for ten or so games .

We did not finish any higher than where we were with Ole and the football played during the second half of the season was the worse for a decade. What makes everyone believe that Slade has the ability to get us playing decent football and getting near the play off places? There is nothing to support this belief. Thousands abandoned the CCS in the second half of the season due to the abysmal football and in some games (e.g. Brentford- thousands left after half an hour!)

Got to be honest Rydogsccfc I stated previously how I admire you stance on Slade but by god are you going to have egg all over your face if this goes tits up as you are backing slade to the hilt but as we always say everyone has an opinion, me I think you must be barking mad because in my opinion we will be a mid table side all season with him in charge :sladeout: :bluescarf:

I think we just need to wait and see.
I have no faith in him and would take 4th from bottom now however anything can happen in football and it usually does.

The football was no worse than it was under OGS or Malky. We also played some very nice football at Forest away (a nothing game I know) and that has followed on into this season.

When he arrived the first thing said was how unfit the squad was. That's something that's difficult to improve during the season with games coming weekly and when there was a break players leaving for international duty.

He's had a pre season, seen which areas he thinks needs improving so he has no more excuses.

Friendly games are meaningless. Reserve teams players or weak teams playing against you is no test. The true test is when the League season kicks off. If the team performs which clearly did not last season and when we get results and decent performances then fair enough to Slade and he should be applauded however based on what I have seen and the summer transfer activity I believe that we will be mid table at best. Many teams have strengthened over the summer whereas we have a far weaker squad now than we did at this stage last season. We have brought in Ameobi and are still trying to offload our better players.

No but how can anyone state what we are going to be like or play like in a new season? Or do all sides play same way every season even if have same team or is it just city that will? :laughing6:
