Dai Hunt has been mentioned on the messageboard many times but who else deserves a mention? We all know at least one.

i forget the names but going back to the early 80s and 90s two that i remember,
there was a smallish bloke that used to come down from hereford, he would be going nuts every game trying to get everyone singing, mad as a hatter.
Another that sticks in my mind, the eddie may promotion season there was this mental punk fella with a mohawk ect used to follow us everywhere, he was always good for a laugh.

It must be John Lee Reynolds a.k.a. Mutton chops for me. A regular feature at the Ninian Park gates for years and still around today. Even donated a sizeable sum especially for a road sweeper towards the cost of signing Phil Brignall some years ago. Also a Glammy regular at the Arms Park and Sophia Gardens on his palm beach bike. You all must have seen him.

True but there has been the rise of the message board characters over the past ten years or so. My favourite by far was Penarth Kev and his anecdotes about life in Nuclear proof boardroom in the bowls of NP, especially during the Dave Jones/Peter Ridsdale years.
He was a comic genius but sadly died about 3 years ago.

Was that a fella known as Neath Punk? Just about every book written about the Soul Crew etc. has mentioned him.

I bumped into Pongo a while back over Pengam Green tesco's. He still recognised me but we have pilled a few years on since I last saw him. Apart from that he still looks the same.
Didn't peggy die a few years ago. Always saw him on the London trips - seemed a good guy.

Remember him starting a chant in Fulham on a Friday night when Jimmy Hill was there.

I knew Dilly very well.
Cardiff fans were banned one season from watching the Jacks away so me Dilly and about 30 of us managed to get to Neath for a drink in the afternoon but couldn't travel any further because of the police. The police even stopped us taking taxis from Cardiff. When Jack fans came back after the match it all kicked off.
Cutting a long story short, me and Dilly along with 10 others were wrongly....... thrown in the back of the hooly van.
Dilly then told us all in the back of the van to start singing church songs so the police would think that they picked up the wrong people and that they accidently picked up some church goers.
I don't think the smell of alcohol in the back of the van helped us though.
Dilly was a top man and sorely missed.
