15,000 for a city the size of Cardiff. Absolutely pathetic! People of Cardiff...where are you???

truth is we have about 12,000 die hards who will turn up whatever(obviously some fans wont be able to attend all the time due to family/financial committments/hols,etc) , alot of fans only turn up when the club is doing well , if we have a good start then I think attendences will improve

I won't be there! Got a friends wedding. Would be going to wolves at home but 5.30 kick off on Saturday means I would not get home till 11. First game for me will be Huddersfield.

Yes well I still believe a couple of thousand are missing thanks to the rebrand.

The Club is poorly run and have no idea about customer relations or how to connect with the vast catchment area it has. Since Tan turned us red a lot of fans have become disillusioned. The trick was keeping those disillusioned fans on board. They have failed and our supporter base seems to have collapsed. Yes the football was rubbish last season but that was just one season. Our supporters are fickle and the Club has to take much of the blame for not trying hard enough to build up an effective relationship with its fans. Clubs like Norwich, with a much smaller catchment area than Cardiff, seem to have done a good job in holding on to their support no matter what league they are in proving that it can be done.

I think you're pushing it to say we've got that many die hards at the moment, half that I reckon. Crowds will pick up if we have a decent start, don't think we will though, not being negative, just realistic. Hope I'm proved wrong.

If this is true it will surprise me, but it will also be a proper indicator of how many have deserted us. One thing is for sure it will be the hardcore loyal fans left

Re: How are ticket sales looking for the Fulham game ?

If it wasnt for the return to blue it would be 8000. Let's be fair, Tan has shafted this club for years.
The man is a complete arsehole.

Re: How are ticket sales looking for the Fulham game ?

If the rebrand lost 1000's of punters, then good riddance I say, not real fans are they, you support your club whatever

Re: How are ticket sales looking for the Fulham game ?

I think the Rugby is a big factor too.

Put that together with the rebrand, then that's a fair chunk not there.

I think if we can take 5-7 points from Fulham, Blackburn and QPR then we should see a bigger crowd for Wolves. Big IF though.

15000 expected at City ground for 1st game of season,75000 at MS for a Rugby friendly, which is the biggest sport in Wales? I'll be one of the mugs at CCS hoping for a home win!

The premier league year was the last season for many.

I stated before - if you tally up everyone who doesn't go anymore, from everywhere
I believe we have lost 4000 fans. We have may be 8000 die hards now.

We had died as a club through that season, the rebrand, the circus, the sell out had affected
All of us. I stopped going through that season, couldn't stomach anymore.
Last season continued the dross and was final straw for both old fans and fans who came on board
When we became a decent DJ side with the start of our Wembley trips.

To couple this with the success and stability of Swansea has left many bitter against Tan
And these and their kids are lost to ccfc.

Best thing for city would be for Tan to say sorry, and sell us debt free for a few million
And leave.
I've now bought an ST again as I fight back against a part of me that had given up.

For me, tan must leave, but won't happen

So while that c**t is here.
The only way to get supporters (customers) in is success.
But by slade being here, and the shite he served up
Fresh from last season And his lack of support by club and fans
The general feeling by some stay always is - f**k it.

All that is happening at cardiff city fc is the equilibrium returning to pre Sam the man days. Expectations at cardiff were set to high, with many fans believing that cardiff were a huge club and it was only a matter of time before they became a fixture in the PL. The relative success you have had over the last 8 years with trips to wembley and getting promoted to the PL, was built on sand and when that happens sooner or later it will all come crashing down.
The way forward is to now get some stability at cardiff, bring spending under control and by doing that you can put down solid foundations and for that to happen fans should lower their expectations.

Re: How are ticket sales looking for the Fulham game ?

I don't think it's just the red shirt problem that is causing the drop in ticket sales. More likely to be that we are not in the Premier League any more, and a lot of our fans have experienced a season where we were not involved in the promotion battle, and are not tipped to be involved again this season. The expected crowd tomorrow is probably about right for Cardiff, as in years gone by we have normally attracted anywhere between 12,000 & 20,000 in this dvision, depending on whether we are towards the top or closer to the bottom. I think the number of die hard supporters is less than some people think. I class diehard fans as those who will follow the club through the bad times as well as the good, and if we get relegated and struggle in one of the lower leagues, we will not get much more than 6,000, possibly less. I am sure there are quite a few of us on this forum who can remember the days when we were lucky to see much more than 3,000 in the bad old days at Ninian Park. Just being a championship club or div 2 as it was then was a distant dream in those days, so things could be a lot worse than they are. There are a lot of good sides in this league, and I'm looking forward to kick off.

As our success / foundations were built on sand, yours were built on the back of one administration and shafting your creditors twice, your last sentence is obvious and applies to all clubs.

The trouble is 90% of the jacks think that Swansea were founded in 2010 and as soon as financial morals are mentioned they go on about our debts which we are servicing rather than paying our creditors 5p in the £. They will never get any credit from me for the way they are run.

The current board at Swansea learned from the mistakes of the past. If they didn't Swansea would not be in the PL now. As the old saying goes a fool learns from his own mistakes and a wiseman by the mistakes of others.

The current board benefitted from free rent and screwing creditors. That's why you are in premier league. Looking forward to seeing you banned again Roathie.
