Cardiff City striker Kenwyne Jones in contention for season opener as Russell Slade rubbishes Sheffield Wednesday rumours
The striker hasn't featured in Cardiff City's pre-season but has been on international duty with Trinidad and Tobago
Striker Kenwyne Jones worked one-to-one with a fitness coach during an open training session at Cardiff City Stadium.
Manager Russell Slade, though, confirmed that Jones is in contention for a place in the Bluebirds’ matchday squad against Fulham at home this Saturday.
Jones arrived back from international duty last Wednesday, having played four full Gold Cup matches for Trinidad and Tobago in America.
Slade had hoped to include Jones against Bournemouth in City’s final pre-season match, but decided not to risk him.
“Kenwyne has played a lot of football and we are easing him back in,” said Slade. “He is fit, but we didn’t want to rush him back too quickly after all the playing and travelling he has done.”

If you were a club thinking of buying or loaning Kenwyne Jones would you have on loan or buy him now, if he needs a couple of weeks rest and save paying him around a months wages, after all his last game was only on July 19th

Wouldn't want him to start personally, done well with Mason and Revell got himself 2 v Bournemouth all be it one being from an error of the defender but he captalised and put it away.

That's put me right off Saturday. Alters not only our style of play but also the entire approach/ attitude of fellow players and fans alike.
He doesn't care about his performance enough for me.
