I see that Crystal palace have signed conner Wickham so frazier Campbell is further down the pecking order!

Highly unlikely looking at recent business, the big question is what are Palace going to do with Gayle

According to a few press reports (speculation?) yesterday, they were going to send him to Fulham on a year long loan deal.

Gayle is joining Fulham on loan and will score against us on Saturday! Campbell would be great, but can't see it happening.

We should demand it

Seriously though I think he is just what we need. I would be very exited about our prospects this season if we signed Fraizer Campbell. :bluescarf:

Good quality Championship striker.

I would like to have him back too but would prefer Gayle , a better finisher in my opinion. But I doubt we would be able to afford either with the current budget

And still be in red glad we pissed him off then aren't you ?

Re: Fraizer Campbell

Let's get rid of Jones and make a bid, he's bound to be on less than 42,000!

WHY?? Thats all we need is another £20k plus striker, who cant score goals  It beggars belief, how some of our supporters think sometimes  At his last 3 clubs hes made 126 appearances and scored 23 goals FFS

Thanks Nubsy. If you put it like that I would have rathered us to have rolled over. Just as well I am seeking or expecting a sudden surge in the popularity stakes on this forum.

I take it you didn't watch Campbell playing for us, or indeed Hull, in our respective promotion seasons from the Championship ?

At this level he would get 20 goals in a full season.

The questions are whether that is worth £20K a week and, more importantly, whether he could stay fit to play at least 30 league games ?

Personally I think he's a different level to what we've got and, with his workrate, he'd fit into the Slade formation and ethic.

Still think it's unlikely he'd come back though.

Why, "do you take it I didnt watch him for us"?? Ive just given you his last five years stats, which are fact, plus on watching him in nearly every game he played for us, I can categorically say that he will not be a prolific goal scorer, yet you are of the opinion that he can score 20 goals a season?? He scored 14 goals in 48 starts for us you dougnut :laughing5: so what makes you think that he can bang in 20 goals? added to this, that there are more than enough stories of players being piss poor when they go back to former clubs, should be another reason why we would go nowhere near him

Firstly quoting stats doesn't prove you've watched a game you doughnut

The stats you quote include Prem games and I was only referring to his ability at Championship level for us and Hull. Yes, I do believe at this level, fit, he would get 20 goals in a season. In addition nobody could ever doubt his work rate and overall contribution.

Pointless argument really because he won't be back

What you get extra with Campbell is work rate, pace and a great team ethic (Macheda take note)

He lacks genuine class to be a top class premiership striker..but is the real deal at championship level..always has been!!
