I agree. Not sure if Villa would have even considered him if they weren't so desperate to replace Benteke. A likeable guy who tries hard, very good with his head and surprisingly nimble on his feet. Lower half Premier League/top half championship sums up his ability.

A lot on here didn't even rate him as a championship player

Agreed. Always like him at the city as he was a 100%er. Let's hope he is a success at villa and scores a hatrrick at the Liberty and gives a cheeky to the jbs.

Not surprised he has got a move to the Premier League.

Had the pleasure of meeting Gestede after a game and he was very appreciative of the supporters and the club as a whole for the support they gave him when he joined, spoke for a good 10-20 minutes after a game think it was a Sunday fixture and he was happy to stay and talk.

From a 1 week trial and scoring v Charlton in Pre Season to this, great story for him.

He done brilliant for a target man for us and Blackburn.

Sadly supporters didn't give him enough support, a minority like myself backed him and I remember Chuckles saying on here to me or in general he wouldn't get 10 goals. Just like Kenwyne again I backed him because some of our supporters are not really open minded enough to understand what a target man is and what they do, our supporters always expect pace, chasing down 24/7 from target men thinking their some Campbell type striker.. complete difference in what your dealing with in terms of types of striker.

Well said I knew there was something about Gestede and not surprised he has thrived and yes he is a great humble guy.

I supported him on here from day one
Get someone on here who knows how to find old threads
I took so much stick over my support for him
And said many times he would become a premier league player
I spoke with him loads of time and he would shake my hand and say thank you to me for chatting with him
