Joe is a clever young player and a centre half's nightmare because he has the knack of floating between defenders on their defensive line as well as dropping into the space in front of them and the midfield. Add to that that he is quick as well and means that defenders never know who's picking him up and never feel like they have him under control.
And he has an eye for goal and a finishing instinct.
Occurs to me we should play to this strength and get the ball down the channels and bang the ball in early along the 6 yard line. Joe will get that 1/2 yard on defenders and should be coached to bundle the ball in ..... any way he can.
A bit like a certain Gary Lineaker who was brilliant at it.
I would love to see the club approach Lineaker and turn Joe into a project for him.

I agree with everything apart from him being quick. Ive seen milk curdle faster than him. His movement and positioning are top class though, as is his finishing

Easily if they are similar players? He's not saying mason was as good as Lineker. Just similar styles of play.

There There, no need for profanities
There is nothing wrong with what he is saying. He's not saying he is as good as Lineker etc. Just saying they have similar ways of playing.
It's his opinion, one that I can agree with on a level. Although not totally
No need to be aggresive to him
Just making yourself look like a fool

Lineaker relied on pace over 10 yards, Joe hasn't any.
He is a strange player. Very good finisher, but little pace or strength. I used to think he was like Sheringham, but he hasn't grown as much as I thought he would. He does show a quicker turn of pace in and around the box. But, if Slade wants to play him as one of our main men, its going to have to be to feet.
I loved the midfield against Watford, very "Malky". But, it makes me wonder why we are in for Russell who I believe is an out and out winger. With that midfield the ball will be passed into feet of space and will play into Joe's stregth which is movement.

Nothing wrong with the OPs comments at all. Looks like it touched a nerve by your comments.
In case you weren't aware, the poster wasn't saying Masons a direct replica of Lineker, just shows similar traits. Read it again before getting aggressive

You guys obviously don't know this poster.
If he's wrong, he's goes a bit mental. He knows he's wrong that's why he's started swearing.
Personally, to me Mason is nothing at all like Lineaker.

To clarify, I will remember Lineaker as a GREAT goalscorer who's goals were pretty much all scored between the penalty spot and the goal. Not really sure he had pace.......but his pace of thought gave him the split second over the defender. And he could always deflect the ball goalwards.
Joe could do that..........because he is an intelligent player who pulls defenders to where they don't want to be.
Just saying it would be great if Lineaker was able to mind coach Joe. He is back and forth to the area, I believe.
Junta, home and away since 1967. Welsh League centre half.
So Feck you!

Llan, agree to feet. Or Chest. Or backside. Or knee.
We were never really able to put the channel ball into the fastest (best) finisher we had in Earnie. All we had to do was push the ball between full back and centre half but didn't do it nearly as often as we should. And that was with another good midfield thinker in Kavanah.
Whitts and Dic will slow it down in the middle. so lets ping it wide and smash in early low balls for Joe.

With you being arguably the biggest tool on here. In fact if it went to vote - you'd be right in amongst it.

AB forgets he is only a member on here because a lot of us members will come on here some days just to laugh at his incredibly thoughtless opinions.

Lineker managed to score many goals at close range because he left the defenders for dead in getting to the ball

Oi, smart arse.....
1. Not pretending to have been a world beater. But a decent level and for that matter, higher than many around here (but that's not the point). It's all about levels and I was giving an opinion that defenders don't like quick thinkers because (at any level) they get the first half yard. And Joe is quick in the head and a clever mover.
2. You are slow to understand that i am not comparing Joe with (in my opinion) the GREAT Gary Lineaker. But GL could mind coach Joe into making the quick head count.
If you don't agree, say so. I can live with that.
2.
