Last night clueless and mediocre

Wed Jul 29, 2015 8:21 am

That's what I thought of Watford
The same cannot be said of SLADES TEAM ,they were organised and slick ,what I saw last night left me more than excited for the coming season .
Moore in goal didn't have a lot to do but when needed produced the save of the night getting down low to his left to turn a low point blank shot around the post rating 7
Peltier was unnoticed as a forward threat but went about his defensive duties well rating 6
Connelly and Morrison played really well and IMO but for a linesman so mistake would of had another clean sheet under there belts both rating 8
Peltier especially first have had one of his best games to date excellent going forward linked with ralls and ameombi and his shot resulted in masons first goal rating 8
digickio was a human wall in front of the back four lasted looked rather fit at last just what we need in the middle rating 8
Ralls was just about every where and for me ran the show demanding the ball passing moving and setting things up rating just missed out on man of match 9
Whitts did nothing wrong did nothing special but with digickio and ralls in the middle we might just see whitts back to his best rating 6
pilkington quite quiet but first half most of the game was played down our left made way for noone in second half who made no impression rating pilks 6 noone4
Ameobi first half showed signs of the skill we can look forward to next season second half showed what he needs to do to improve as he was knocked off the ball to easy but I'm sure he will get sharper made way for ravelle who did very little but as usual ran and ran rating ameobi 6 ravelle 4
O keefe came on late for digickio and was neat and tidy rating 5
Now for my man of the match mason playing as a number ten / lone striker played with confidence guile clever movement not sure he new much about his first goal to be honest looked to me he stuck his foot out at a shot come cross and it's in the back of the net but that's what good players do be in the right place at the right time now to the winning goal and what a goal it was good build up play and what a pass now without replays was it ralls or whitts (if whitts then I've rated him wrong someone put me right please ) however I thought it was ralls that put mason in Mason took the ball in his stride just inside the box lost his marker by going left and with his left foot put the ball in the net from about 6yds out and 4yds wide of the goal rating has to be 10 for his all round play
Finally Russell slade must rate 8 his team is coming together clueless no way time fans give him a chance because on last nights evidence I believe he is getting it right .
For those that want the debt reduced IMO we don't need to spend to be competitive next season but the team need us fans to get out there and support them .
Maybe the next couple of seasons should just be about consolidating setting our sights on longer term goals keeping within our income stream ,improving year on year and the next time we get to the premier league we might just be ready to stay there :sladein: :sladein: :bluescarf: :bluebird:

and ameobi

Just saw the goals on u tube
I've done Mason an injustice as it was a very good Finnish for his first goal
And ravelle did well closing the keeper down and making him make a poor clearance ,okeefe did well winning the ball back and it was ralls who put Mason in :sladein: :bluescarf: :bluebird:

I think they all did very well last night, and even the subs were great.

good solid match winning performance. Let's hope it continues into the season proper.

disagreed with you a fair bit regarding the rebrand, tan and other issues last season. But I think your spot on about consolidating what we have now and building a string squad that in a few years may be ready to stay in the prem.

I like your op, but you need to look at the goals again, as you'll then find that the lino got it right for Deeney's goal!

Morrison and possibly Connolly was playing him onside!

My op was done without replay evidence and I called it the way I saw it on the night
I have updated my original op and will concede I was wrong on the call that there goal was offside
If you were there last night what's your opinion on my ratings :sladein: :bluescarf: :bluebird:

I've already said I liked your OP and wasn't criticising it, but I was unable to comment on the ratings, as I was working yesterday and unable to get to Cardiff in time for kick off, so I allowed my son to take his girlfriend to sit in my usual seat alongside him!

I only saw the goals on YouTube this morning and I can see why you got it wrong, but it was obvious from the footage I saw, that Deeney was onside! :ayatollah:
