Chris Coleman keen for Wales to stay at Cardiff City Stadium
Manager Chris Coleman wants Wales to continue playing their qualifying games at Cardiff City Stadium.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out, FAW will want the pull of money at the millennium, while Coleman is right that away fans should feel like away fans when they play Wales

The FAW should have a word with Tan. Perhaps between them they can 2nd tier the Canton and Grange in red.
Nice capacity for Wales and we may as well have a whole tier empty all the way around.

Coleman is right the ccs when full and bouncing is a hard place to play
The millennium is just to big for us the fans are right on top of the team in ccs , would be very different for the players in the millennium

Football wise its a no brainer - CCS has to be the best option. Its a nicer smaller more intimate environment and once we get it full you cant beat it.
Financially obviously its Millenium Stadium.
Unfortunately we know which one the FAW will opt for!

The millennium stadium is okay if it's full what happens if we start the group poorly and only get 20000

Wales are going to cash in soon by having friendlies played at the Millennium Stadium.
This makes sense.
Use Cardiff City stadium to qualify then fill the Millennium Stadium. Some will be announced soon.

Well said Chris Coleman. Bang on son. To move back to the Millennium would placate all those glory hunting fans who don't support a Welsh club team, turn their backs on Wales when struggling and who only turn when Wales are doing well and there is a superstar Welsh player (Giggs before now Bale). The Taffia media will jump on that bandwagon as well and we'd end up with kids with hooters and people with daffodil hats. And being out sung by ten/twenty thousand away fans.

The problem with going back to the millennium stadium full time is, a few bad results and the crowds will start falling away. We are on a massive high at the moment.. It won't last forever. I can see them going down the route of using both stadiums. Games that are garenteed 60k plus crowds will go to the millstad, and the rest will go to the CCS

Moving games to the Millenium Stadium would give the Away team a mich bigger advantage in my opinion. If the Belgium match was at the Millenium, I doubt very much the crowd would have been able to get behind the boys the way it did.
2,400 away supporters rather than 6/8,000 away fans singing in the Corner has to be a positive. Monet shouldn't really be an issue the the FAW at the moment as more and more money will come from Qualification rather than selling tickets.

We've been here before and it's a simple question of potential success against financial gain?
If we stay competitive I sincerely hope we stay at CCS and keep it difficult to meet demand. If we go to MS as others have said a few bad results and you're back to square one.
My fear is that greed will nearly always win which will mean inevitably games will be played at Millenium Stadium

They are both fantastic Stadiums when they are FULL and we are winning! So match the stadium to the game, only Ireland at the MS for the World Cup plus a Friendly against Argentina, the rest at CCS.

Thought this thread was gonna be about Le Fondre then

CCS all the way for Wales games.
I do t get the anti-kids comments though. Kids with hooters are tomorrow's shooters. A single visit to a big game where the atmosphere is amazing, and you can hook a future life-long fan.
I took 40+ kids to the Belgium game and they made a hell of a racket!! There were plenty of them there from all over the place. The game isn't for adults. It's for all.
I would be totally against moving any games to the MS having seen the effect it had on the experience for the crowd and the players.
Can we have a Wales emoticon please??

This is a complete non starter.
If Wales qualify for the Euro's they will atract 70,000 plus gates for the World Cup if priced right.
If a crowd of 70,000 cant raise the players we dont deserve to be going to the World Cup. Cardiff City Stadium can only accomodate half that total. It makes no sense financially or support wise to play there.
If an argument was to be made about playing in a small stadium in order to qualify for a World Cup, play all the qualifiers at the Liberty.
Agree, no i thought saw.
If Wales supporters can switch on at the Cardiff City Stadium, they can flick the switch at the Millennium.
