New players

With some cristisism being give for our lack of sinings ( I don't think its a bad thing) what about having pilks and Dikgacoi, this is like having two marquee sinings. The jury is still out if Dikgacoi can get fit, seems like he's been on the mend forever. As for pilks, when he's fit he is top draw and has the correct attitude with it. Lets get behind what we have

They will defiantly be like new signings

We have a very strong midfield when everyone's playing well all we need is a fighting sprit and everyone to give 100 percent , its really down to slade what Happens this season , we have the players can he make them a team

I agree we have a strongish squad but in my mind there is no doubt that we lack a quality forward. I'd get rid of Kenwyne and his wages of £1.75m per year and sell Macheda and perhaps Ravell and use the money to fund the signing of a quality striker. We could splash out £5m on a striker with pace and power who can hold the ball and link up play. If we found the right player we could then go for a five man midfield. We definitely have the personnel for a five man midfield. Our defence is pretty good particularly if we have Dikgacoi and Gunnarsson sitting in front of it. The missing piece in the jigsaw

Russell Slade hoping for further signings at Cardiff City

Cardiff City manager Russell Slade has admitted that he is still in the hunt for new signings before the Championship campaign gets underway.

The Bluebirds ramped up their preparations for the 2015-16 season by beating top-flight new boys Watford 2-1 on Tuesday evening.

Slade has come in for criticism after failing to turn around his side's fortunes since being appointed last October, but the former Leyton Orient chief has put up a staunch defence of his time at the helm.

"I think only a fool would say we've gone backwards or made no progression," he is quoted as saying by Wales Online. "They are Premier League teams and that's where we want to be. We wanted these games because we wanted to show how much progress we have made."

Asked about his side's transfer dealing to date, in which just two new faces have arrived, Slade added: "There's possibilities of us doing more.

"Those in the game will tell you - one or two aside - it's been a slow window in the Championship and we haven't done as much business as we wanted – but that does not mean we are not going to challenge for anything because we have got a good group."

Cardiff face another newly-promoted Premier League side in Bournemouth on Friday evening in their final pre-season fixture.
