Austria are really the only threat in this group ,

Serbia are no where near as good as they used to be
Republic of Ireland could be an issue
Should beat Moldova and Georgia with no issues

When the pots were drawn up to group 1

I would have picked our group or group b so we should be very happy with that . Missed all the big nations and got sides who are all beatable .

Austria are punching above there weight with a ageing team . Serbia are not the team of a few years ago and have a very young inexperianced squad . Ireland are decent but not great and the other two should be a given in all honesty . Teams in this group will trip up away to Georgia but let's just hope it's not us .

Because england are shit , god knows how they got into pot 1 with us and the likes of Germany

Out of all the groups I'd say we got the 3rd easiest. People keep mentioning that Serbia are not the team they were a couple of years ago, but you are forgetting their U21's are European Champions so come the qualifying stages they should start being very well recognised. But can't complain really, we should be looking for at least a top 2 finish.

Serbia are a seriously talented squad, boosted by their u21s by the Time the wc qualifiers come around.. Saying that there's no Germany, no Spain etc.. We've got the ability and team spirit to make a mark on this group

Agree with what you say and if serbia didnt have under 21s who are good its still really hard place to get a result. It could have been worse but its still not easy wont get carried away until 4 or 5 games in and were doing alright

A difficult group to get out of but most of the groups are difficult. If we can maintain the same togetherness and belief then I think we'll give it a good go again. C'mon Wales !!

Few people mentioning the fact that the successful Serbian U21s will bolster their squad. Someone said above that their U21s are European Champions. Don't think that's true. It's even worse than that, the U20s are the World Champions! Only recently won it as well, out in New Zealand.
