are going for it in the transfer market to make the PL, and the big pay day that waits the season after this one in the PL # ambitiousclubs. should be a great championship this season with QPR/Wolves/Boro/Burnley/Hull/Ipswich and Derby all battling for the big price

The key is not a squad with good big stand out players and spending loads of money
A squad who works for each other and puts pride and passion in the game will go up
Look at Brentford and Bournemouth last season almost favs for relegation didn't spend much money and 1 went up 1 playoffs

Obviously clubs that either have solid financial backing or arent living in cookoo land having had 3 years of over spending!
At the end of the day, we have kept hold of Manga & for time being at least, Kenwyn. That for me is better than signing unkown players.

We already have an excellent squad.
We just need a good team.
I have faith that we will definitely be challenging.

I think the end of last season gives me hope and is why I am prepared to 'back off' Slade; for a while at least!

Disagree unfortunatley. I think we are mid table at best. Everyone else signing players strenthening we'v not done much at all in the transfer market. WIll be the same as last year. Firmly mid table, not good enough to go up but we will win enough games to not get relegated.

Apart from already having the players to get us promoted we also have the supporters to get us promoted.
Forget your £m signings. If we create an atmosphere where players are buzzing and want to play each week and, if we create an atmosphere where more supporters want to turn up, we will be a Premiership Club.
A lot of shit has happened over the last few years - but we need to put this negativity behind us. #ourcityisblue and from now on we need to concentrate on total positivity. Forget TanIn/TanOut or SladeIn/SladeOut as its not our decision. What we can influence are the results on the pitch.
When I attended the Promotion Party as one of the clubs photographers a few years back I remember speaking to one of the players. I wont name him, because it was a private conversation, but he said that the support that we had that season was like having 2 extra players on the pitch. That's the effect we as a crowd have on the players and it could be argued that we are the difference between promotion and another year in the Championship.
As a photographer I am fortunate to attend many grounds during the season. Anfield is special as is the Etihad. But apart from these nothing really compares to the atmosphere during our promotion season.

I think Brentford will be nowhere near the side this season, that they were last season. For starters they have signed too many foreigners. Just like Fulham last season and I knew that would happen at Fulham because they had a manager who knew nothing about the Championship and over 90% of their new signings were foreign. Now Brentford have a foreign manager, who has brought mostly foreign players to Brentford and I can see them struggling this year. The Championship is totally different to the Premier League. But, these managers think that if a player is technically very good and he can play good in the Premiership. That he can do the same in the Championship. It just does not work like that. Look at Karanka for 'Boro, yes he brought in 2 or 3 foreign players last season, but he also brought in a lot more British or British based foreigners who know how the Chanpionship is. That is why Karanka was successful at Middlesbrough and why he will be successful again this season. The Championship is an extremely hard league to play in, because of the lack of time you get on the ball, more games to play, more committed players, sometimes bad pitches, etc. Also, the quality of player is getting a lot higher these days, there are some players in the Championship who you would never have thought would come to the Championship and play second division football. The level of quality has gone much higher the past few seasons. I absolutely love Championship football and when we went to the Premiership, I actually missed it. Unlike the Premiership, the Championship has not got such a big gap between the teams at the top or bottom. It is very competitive, exciting, enthralling and any team can beat any other team. For quality and excitement there are only 2-3 divisions in the whole of Europe that can claim to be better - not in my opinion - than the Championship, and they are:- La Liga, Bundesliga and the Premier League. The Championship is a hell of a lot better than French, Belgian, Dutch, Italian, Portuguese and any other European leagues that are out there.
Personally, I do not care if we stayed in the Championship for another 5 years. If we made it to the Premier League again, obviously I would be ecstatic for the club and especially the fans. But, the main reason I would want to get promoted back to the Premiership League, is so that the club could pay off some or all of the debts that we currently have and for Vincent Tan to sell the club, just like he promised us he would.
