I did say one day he'd be playing for a team in the top half of the Premier League capable of getting into Europe. I cant say I am surprised as he's peaked just when I thought he would, as is typical of strikers of that style.

Cardiff should have got more money than £250k but am told that he is meeting up with Aston Villa today and they have agreed to pay around £7m for him and would sign a 3 year contract with an option of another 2 years and he will treble his wages.

For all his arrogance, Tim Sherwood has proven he can get the best out of strikers. That would be a very wise move for Gestede. They will still probably go down but he'll have a season in the Premier League leading the line and he can use it to put himself in the shop window for an even bigger club. Not sure he'll do it in the Premier League personally though.

I don't believe he's PL quality but good luck to him and hope he does well.
