WOL said an experienced striker, they didn't mention it was Cole.

Cole is exactly the kind of player we won't be signing. Wages far too high.

We've also got enough strikers that can't score more than half a dozen goals in a season, so can't see why this would be a good option.

We should keep Jones. He might be on big money but without his goals last season we'd have been in big trouble as Le Fondre, Macheda or Revell combined didn't equal Jones's tally.

I wouldn't be surprised if Carlton Cole was on a similar wage to Kenwynne either.

If it was a straight choice between the pair I would keep Kenwynne.

Also, didn't Cole reject the chance to join us because he didn't want to move to Wales?

In fairness to Carlton Cole he was brilliant for West Ham the season that they got relegated to the Championship. But, I do not think that he would be the answer to our goal scoring problems. He would also want big wages and a pretty sizeable signing on fee. I think he is very similar to Kenwyne Jones and we are trying to get rid of him, because of his big wages and his lack of effort. So it would be stupid for us to bring in Carlton Cole. Granted, he tries a lot harder and shows a bit more effort than Kenwyne, if we bring in Cole and couldn't get rid of Kenwyne we would be up shit creek. There combined wages would be somewhere between 50-70 thousand pound a week and for the amount of effort that these two put in, it is definitely not worth the club forking that kind of money out.

Please Slade if you are contemplating this signing, please stop, think, step away from the table, exit the room, leave the building, get in your car and get the f**k out of there as fast as you can!!

If we can get Kenwyne off the wage bill and we can get Carlton Cole for say half of what Kenwyne was on (40K a week) then I would be happy as I think Cole would do well in the championship.

I would have said the same 2-3 years ago, but I think he is past it now. I can't see Kenwyne going anywhere now after hearing Slade talking about keeping him this season as he has big things planned for Kenwyne this campaign. He said that they may not be able to reject a £5m for Jones, which I feel is bloody ridiculous, as I would accept anything over £1m for Jones, just to get him off the wage bill. But, if Slade somehow manages to get £5m for him, I would be absolutely shocked. Cause I feel for someone who is the wrong side of 30, in his last year of his contract, not a particularly hardworking or committed player and for a player that is very hit or miss, we are taking the pee with the £5m price. Surely that means that Slade is trying to put off potential buyers for Kenwyne, when he should be trying to gain interest for Jones, so that we can get him off the wage bill.
