Cardiff City earned their first win of pre-season by edging out top-tier Israeli outfit Ironi Kiryat Shmona in the Netherlands this evening.
Russell Slade's side took the lead in the 18th minute when defender Bruno Ecuele Manga found the net.
The Bluebirds saw out the result in the second half, adding a second shortly before full time through Anthony Pilkington.
Cardiff's second friendly in the Netherlands takes place on Friday when they face Sparta Rotterdam.

Excellent!
Glad we've held on to Bruno Ecuele Manga and I'm sure he can chip in with a few headed goals as well as being a terrific defender.
Anthony Pilkington is experienced and I'm sure he'll be great this season too if he stays clear of injuries!

As I said in a previous thread, the results are not important at this stage. Don't think we should go over the top because we beat a team who have a combined value of not much more than we are asking for Le Fondre. Would'nt have worried if we had lost either. We have beaten good sides in friendlies and had a crap season, and lost to rubbish sides pre season, but went on to do well in the league. We'll have a good idea of how good we are after about 10 league games.
