' A NUMBER OF BIDS RECEIVED FOR CITY STAR/ PLUS

Tue Jul 21, 2015 6:49 pm

Cardiff City have received actual bids, not just interest shown, that have been over £1m for striker Adam Le Fondre.

The club are hopeful of getting around £2m for Le Fondre.

The bids received for the striker have come from clubs in the South of the country and as we know Le Fondre wants to move North.

The club don't want to sell for £1m, Le Fondre doesn't want to play in the South. If there are no improved bids or nothing comes from a Northern club then Cardiff City may have to try and do a deal with one of the clubs who have already bid.

But surely that will leave Le Fondre with a decision to make, does he move on but not to a destination he wishes to go or will he be faced with the possibility of playing with the reserves ?

Hopefully it will turn out well for both the club and Le Fondre but it could just end up being an awkward situation where we are stuck with a player that we don't want and Le Fondre's career put on hold.

Regarding Johnny Russell, I am told that Russell Slade is very much an admirer of the Derby County star but the Rams valuation of the Scottish international is a problem.

Slade wants Russell but City will not meet Derby's valuation despite Slade's hopes of trying to land him, so unless Derby lower the asking price then it seems our manager will be left disappointed.

If Le fondre can play for Reading for a while then he can play for any other southern team.

It would make sense to go to Brrrrsol City!

As a northerner, Le Fondre would appreciate the £6.50 saving on the Severn Bridge every day! ;) :laughing6:

A northerner would surely use the m50 to get to the m5 and avoid the bridge.

Doesn't want much does he le fondre. Is he that arrogant that he will only play for a club in a certain radius from his home? Shows his ambition as a footballer really.

This sounds like a Burkey transfer again. Closer North to his kids and went to Midlands

Le Fondre is not wanted and City want money, so City will make his life a misery,so I can't see Le Fondre here come the first game of the season.

Annis I know 100% that le fondre wasn't happy at city from day 1 ,he's got personal family issues and tbh we shouldn't of signed him in the first place , he only came for a bigger contract ,city give him his chance no one can knock the club for that ,the club should hold out for the money they want ,le fondre is a waste of space

I would like to have seen him make it here as his type of player is exactly what we need.
I think we should definitely hold out & we should get close to 2mill for him.

Personal issues probably the reason for his poor form ? If so, it shows it's worth digging down a bit into a prospective player's personal circumstances.

I think Cardiff need to look more into the players backgrounds to avoid future complications

Why don't we swap him for another player. How about Jay Spearing. Bolton want a striker, we want a midfielder, job done.

Wes, you might be right about his family problems as at this moment Le Fondre is refusing to sign for teams down South.
