CONFIRMED ' CARDIFF CITY STRIKER WILL BE LEAVING '

Mon Jul 20, 2015 5:22 pm

' Cardiff City striker Adam Le Fondre has revealed he will be leaving the Championship club '

MONDAY 20TH JULY 2015

Le Fondre joined the Welsh side from Reading in May 2014, where he scored 41 goals in 110 appearances.

The 28-year-old scored just 3 goals for Cardiff and spent the second half of the season on loan at Bolton after falling out of favour with Bluebirds manager Russell Slade. His form at Bolton was more promising, scoring 8 goals in 17 appearances, but Le Fondre has now revealed that he will not be continuing as a Cardiff City player.

The Stockport born striker now hopes to seal a permanent deal or a loan move away from Cardiff before the season starts in August.

“We’ve come to an agreement where I won’t be playing my football at Cardiff anymore,” Le Fondre told BBC Sport Wales.

“I’m just waiting for the perfect opportunity and the right club for me to go to.

“I’ve turned down a few offers already. Geographically, it’s got to be right for me and my family. It’s going to be a more northern club that I will be signing for, but obviously you never know what comes in front of you.

“I don’t want this dragging on because it’s sort of messing with my pre-season a little bit.”
