We loan Leeds a young player with potential in midfield to help the side and we are trying to sign On a player who has this in his record On 13 May 2015, Austin's contract was not renewed by Leeds United and he was released by the club

I know they are only friendly games but I was full of enthusiasm for the new season until I travelled to Forest Green and Shrewsbury, it will become much clearer where we are after we play Watford and hopefully confidence will be renewed

Not wanted by Leeds, so not good enough for us ..

We can probably offer him half the wages Tom was on though so again all about saiving money and bringing in a lesser quality of player.

Yes, he was not offered a new deal because of his big wage. However, new Leeds manager Uwe Rosler has stated that if he had of been the manager he would have kept Austin, as he is a quality player. He cannot believe that they didn't keep him. Like most of the Leeds fans, they wanted him to stay too. I think Austin would be a quality signing. He's an absolute beast who works his ass off, is strong and when played in a more attacking role, he will score a few goals. As I feel that Dikagcoi will be our defensive midfielder, then I think Austin and Ralls also in a 3 man midfield would be brilliant. If the player is Austin then don't be like the majority of fans and slag him off. Give him a chance, reserve your opinion and then after a run in the side and he becomes one of our best midfielders, then let us know your feelings. If we have a midfield with Dikagcoi and Austin in it, then we will definitely have a much more competitive, hard working, strong, mean and tough tackling midfield, like we haven't had in years. That would be great to see.

You are not an estate agent by any chance are you? Only joking!! Seriously I think you could be right about Austin. I certainly wouldn't mind if it was him.

So we bomb out Tom Adeyemi and Leeds fans jump on him as if he is the new Pele (or at least the new Austin).

Meanwhile Leeds dump Austin at the end of his contract (he has been patchy to be kind over the past 2 years) and so Cardiff fans (and others playing fantasy football on messageboards) decide he is the answer to all our problems?

How does that work?

(PS The name is Rodolph not Rudolph - but 'Rudy' in either case)

No Austin is not another O'Keefe. He is much better than him. Also, Reading winger and fellow Jamaican international, Garath McCleary, is absolutely amazed how Austin was released by Leeds and how he hasn't been snapped up by another club yet. I think that McCleary has cleared up some of the issues that many City fans may have, concerning some doubts about the quality that Rodolph Austin brings to a team. Lee Peltier, who used to play with Austin at Leeds, when asked about Rodolph Austin recently. Said that he was one of the most consistent and one of the best players that he played with when he was there and he also criticised Leeds' decision to not renew his deal. The final thing that Peltier said about Austin was that he would be a brilliant player for whichever club he signs for. Austin has had a brilliant tournament for Jamaica recently and he has been one of, if not the best player for them.

I hope he does sign for us, as I would much rather him playing for us, rather against us.
