Disappointed to see his comments that he will be leaving this summer but it was really inevitable and will be best for both parties. It's a real shame that one of the best strikers in the Championship never made it work with us.

No-one can say it was Slade's fault that it never clicked because ALF was the undroppable under Slade, which frustrated the fans anyway. No doubt he will scores hat full of goals at his new club, but the move away is best for everyone.

Le Fondre wanted to leave from January onwards. Slade granted him his wish and even found him a club up north. ALF still wants out so why would Slade take a player who doesn't want to play for us on a trip designed so he can asses his squad for the news season!

Le Fondre was given a chance here and he undermined the manager and the club.
