Cardiff City strikers Adam Le Fondre and Javi Guerra no closer to Bluebirds departures as pair want out

Manager Russell Slade wants the future of the pair resolved quickly and before the start of the Championship season
Adam Le Fondre and Javi Guerra both want out of Cardiff City
Wantaway strikers Adam Le Fondre and Javi Guerra appear no closer to finding new clubs, but Cardiff City manager Russell Slade said: “We want their situations sorted out before the Championship season starts.”
Le Fondre has attracted interest from Championship clubs, but he is keen on a move back to the north of England and offers received so far won’t accomplish that.
Spanish striker Guerra looked on his way back to Malaga, where he was on loan last season, but the La Liga club appear to have ended their interest.
Both strikers, signed by former City manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, have two years left on their contracts and are not keen to walk away without striking a deal.
The Bluebirds’ management, though, are standing firm on talks to find the best resolution.
They want a fee for Le Fondre, who cost £2.5m when he made the move from Reading, and are determined to stick out for the right deal on 33-year-old Guerra.
“Guerra’s proposed move to Malaga seems to have broken down,” said City manager Russell Slade. “He would still like a return to Spanish football.
“Le Fondre has made it clear he would like a move to a club in the north of England, either on loan or in a permanent deal.
“Ideally we want both situations resolved over the next couple of weeks and certainly by the time we start our Championship fixtures.”

I can expect Jones going as well.

I hope Cardiff do make a stand with regard to Le Fondre. I am sick of players not taking any kind of responsibility and why should CCFC write off £2.5m because his Mrs couldn't settle in South Wales?
If the player wants out so badly then he can take a massive pay cut so Bolton can afford to sign him and pay us a fee. The situation is entirely of his making and just expecting someone else to pick up the tab is the dependency culture at its worst.

Have to agree with you here. Fed up of player power in football. Get them all on performance-related contracts and give the power back to their employer.

Why is it that everyone wants to slag the club off on these two players!!!
In the case of Le Fondre as somebody said he was un-droppable, yet he could not hit a barn-door with a bag of peas and he states he wants to go up north, that's not the club or Slade's doing!
In The Case of Guerra, I say his appalling attitude and display against Bournemouth in the cup was disgusting, and love him or loth him Scott Young was right to haul him off the pitch, I believe that even if a player is not in form or not in the team regularly, he is paid (very well) to give 100% at all times! He again has said he wants to go back to Spain, Fine!
The Club & Slade have done nothing wrong with these players, people should be looking at them and say what have they done to earn the right to a place in the first team THE ANSWER NOTHING

I agree with you on Le Fondre but you're talking bollocks on Guerra, Young had a personality clash with Guerra and he made it public to try and humiliate Guerra and that is why Young took him off, admittedly guerra was awful for that 20 mins he was on but the damage behind the scenes from young was already done. Slade or the club hasn't given him a proper chance, end of. It's all to do with money and I personally think that he is not being played or given a chance because if he plays a competitive game for us again it triggers some sort of bonus that was written in his contract. There's more to it that meets the eye. Javi Guerra has done nothing wrong and certainly doesn't have a bad attitude. Some people need to look at the bigger picture from time to time instead of being blinded by Slade.

well now if he plays another competitive game for us that would be a total of how many certainly not enough to trigger some cock and bull bonus ffs

some people need to look at the bigger picture I do agree with you on that one

do you think it would of been wise of the club to of vetted a players' living arrangements before signing off a multi-million pound transfer?
It's no coincidence this happens to the clubs where the owners/management are clueless when dealing with big transfers

its the modern game, i'm afraid. there is so much money in football nowadays that players call the shots. its not like tennis where a crap season has massive financial effects on the player. in football, as le fondre shows, no matter how crap you play, if you have a long contract you will still be paid at the end of the month.
he wants out, but still wants to keep his inflated salary. we've shown our negotiating hand in the sense that le fondre has said he's been told he has no future here. i doubt le fondre would walk away from his contract. i wouldn't be at all surprised if he has the audacity to ask us to subsidise his contract if no-one else will match it.

Steve, yet again you continue to look at the small picture. Who said anything about it triggers a bonus because of the amount of games he has played because I didn't, also please tell me if it has nothing to do with money why you think he is NOT being given the chance by dumb and dumber, it's certainly not because of his attitude, (as he has done nothing wrong), and not because of his ability, so I say again, look at the bigger picture and stop being blinded by all this Slade in crap that you overuse.

Stevie boy
I hate Tan for taking away our Identity because of a whim, although I followed City for the whole of the years we were a red team, I didn't enjoy it and you of all people should know that. Tan gave us our identity back and I'm grateful for that but I'm not overly grateful to Tan himself as he shouldn't have taken it away in the first place. Now moving on to Slade, I have nothing at all personal against Slade as a person, but I really don't think he is the man to take us forward and like I have said on numerous occasions, I hope he proves me wrong.
