Are you sure? The governing body is called the England and Wales Cricket Board but I'm sure the team is England.

The way the English media, pundits and ex English cricketers like boycott ect were slagging off and insulting Sofia gardens just because one thier precious test matches was held in Wales, (they tried to make it about the pitch which turned out to be a load of bollox) was disgusting and totally uncalled for. Boycott even had the audacity to say it wasn't a home match for England conveniently forgetting that its the England AND Wales cricket board. I can't stand that senile old kunt or the rest of the English cricket brigade. So I'm with blazing. Fuk English cricket, I hope they get hammerred on every English cricket ground they play on against aus, and all the cricket pitches they now play on turn out to be concrete slabs like the one at lords did

Where's the W in Ecb won't be long before they put out a side without one English born not qualified team and should never play in Cardiff last time I looked Cardiff in Wales not England

Wales would probably be better off setting up our own national team. we might struggle for a few years, but while we are finding our feet, we could still play the likes of Scotland, Ireland and maybe a few tests against the windies, Bangladesh ect every few years, at least that way we would gareentee us a few test matches in Wales each year, and plenty of one day cricket. South africa, India, Australia, new Zealand Pakistan, would be out of our scope for a good while, but no reason we couldn't set up a few tests and one dayers each season with second and 3rd tier cricket teams. At least we'd have our own identity instead of being swallowed up by england

Yet another sad, pathetic post (to put on a FOOTBALL Forum) from the OP and some equally daft responses!

Quote (ecb.co.uk): "The England and Wales Cricket Board was established on January 1 1997 as the single national governing body for all cricket in England and Wales."

Using its full name, the England and Wales Cricket Board (abbreviated to ECB) and has in recent years taken to using a Welsh County Ground for international games, which resulted in the recent 'ASHES' victory over the Aussies in OUR own back yard!

They don't come much bigger than that and (even having never attended a game at Sophia Gardens) I think us locals should be immensely proud that such a 'sporting event took place in our fantastic city!

We have also had some great Welsh players in the team, too! ;)

What a totally uneducated thread. No doubt these same people will support the BRITISH LIONS at Rugby.

Many Welsh players have played cricket for England :-

Johnnie Clay, Robert Croft, Jeff Jones, Simon Jones, Tony Lewis, Austin Matthews, Hugh Morris, Gilbert Parkhouse, Pat Pocock, Greg Thomas, Maurice Turnbull, Cyril Walters, Steve Watkin and Allan Watkins.

Criced Cymru for me. f**k those who still have a colonial mentality (thankfully they are becoming less and less).

Why not merge the English and Welsh football teams? How about Cardiff and Swansea? Why might be able to win a f*cking game then :digging2:
