Sammy Ameobi makes his debut
Sunday Jul 19 2015.
Nigeria forward Sammy Ameobi debuted for his new club Cardiff City in a pre-season game on Saturday which they drew 2-2 with Shrewsbury Town.
The Newcastle United forward, who is on a season-long loan at the English Championship, started the game and showed flashes of what he can do.
Ameobi in the ninth minute made use of his height as his flicked a header, which found Joe Mason who was flagged offside, however.
He is expected to play major role in the team as they fight for a return to the English Premier League.

quality debut. the only bright spot in a poor team performance.
great left foot and so close to scoring. hes got no right foot thi which is a worry.
my only concern was that why was he on right wing when hes a left winger ?

Always practice what your weak at , although its a bit late for that I suppose. another theory is that he can cut back inside more comfortably to get a shot away and also creates space for the overlapping full back to attack .

it was a lop sided 442.pilks played very central.
Peltier had prob his worst game iv ever seen him have. taking the guy down for the penalty and his head went down it seemed.
Ameobi beat his man on outside many a time then had to beat him again by coming back inside. im hoping it was to help him with his weaker foot for practice but cant see it.
id love to see Sammy in Masons number 10 role. really is an exciting player and that left foot is gonna score some goals from distance this year.
we are desperate for a top centre midfielder tho. Dikacoi didnt look the answer yeaterday. lets hope its just a fitness issue.
really cant see why we dont go 3 at the back. Connolly looked good when he came on and we got the players to do it i believe

Why is it every manager we have likes playing left footed wingers on the right and right footed wingers on the left. I know cutting inside can be effective but you have to mix it and there is nothing better than watching a winger beat his man to the line and putting in great crosses. I think Noone has been ruined playing constantly on the right although it could be down to loss of pace that he is hardly ever played on the left anymore

They like that so when they cut in the full back can over lap and also cutting in from the right to use your left foot you can get a better shot off. Also that's how they might want crosses delivered for the strikers, curling towards the keeper.
But yea the downside is the opposition full back should quickly pick up that he cant cross with his right and not let him cut in.
